DO NOT USE THE iOS (APPLE) PATREON APP FOR ANY PURCHASES (Patreon)

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to remind you all to NEVER use the Apple iOS Patreon app for any purchases at all. They increase all prices by 30% and take it all for themselves for no reason - the creator or Patreon doesn't get any of it. It has to do with their App Store fee. They started doing this in December I think and I should have updated you all sooner but I forgot about it. I don't use any Apple products myself so I'm not sure how clearly it is stated in the actual Patreon app on an iOS software(?).

If you are using an Apple product then I think you can work around it by using a browser app to go to the Patreon website and doing any purchases there. Upgrading your membership or buying something from my digital shop, for example.

Using the Patreon app on an iPhone otherwise should be fine! Just use a browser for payment stuff. Hope this helps! 💙

you don't have to delete your account! just cancel your membership and rejoin through the website/browser. after that you should be fine to continue using the app. but if you want to ever upgrade or buy something then do it through the browser. but using the app otherwise is fine!

Yes, ALL payments! So cancel your subscription and rejoin through the website using the browser. Then you're fine to continue using the app again. It's explained more detailed in the article I linked in this post

HOWEVER if you signed up before Dec 2024 and didn't upgrade your subscription or cancel and then rejoin, then I don't think you would have been affected.. Since you signed up before. But I'm not sure tbh

I think it did happen bc i noticed that the price was higher and now that i’ve switched to paypal is exactly 6.5€🤷🏼‍♀️ anyway everything is good now

i also just found out that purchases made on the iOS app take 75 days before I can withdraw it... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK APPLE???

i think what matters is that you don't do it using the iOS app, no matter how you choose to pay. but my tier prices are supposed to be $3, $6 and $12 for the lowest three so if that's what you're paying then you're good!

Apple pay for people outside of Europe or the USA offer far more payment options than purchasing from patreon on the web. I am fine with paying a bit more to use the payment method that is conv. for me. Thank you though.
