I'm so excited to have started this show thanks to JIBEOM's generous request, I'm loving it already. Super fun that HOYA is part of this as well since I'm not very familiar with him yet, but something tells me I will fall in love with him too. I feel like I have already 🫠 Really looking forward to next episode which has been requested already! I might not be able to wait until next month... Let me know all your thoughts in the comments~

I´s been a few years since the last time I watched Showtime. It was my comfort show during Infinites military hiatus. I´m so exited for the coming episodes! And yes it was in december 2015, so it should be 5 years, but Limited Edition also started in december 2024 to celebrate their 15 years. Koreans count different I guess. Hoya lives for dancing. In 2022 he was on a dancing survival show Be Mbitious, was chosen as a team member for the dance group Mbitious and they then joined Street Man Fighter, another survivial show for groups. Mbitious was active until summer last year. The seem to be on a hiatus now.

Yay! So excited for you to see more of their past content and learn more about them. I also just love Hoya and I'm excited for you to get to know him. I miss him a lot (although I do follow him on social media). He has some solo stuff I really like too. Keep an ear out for his laugh. It's not as prominent as Dongwoo's laugh but it's cute. Also I think you would love the drama Reply 1994 which he acted in. Another great thumbnail btw 🤣

Hoya left simply because he hates INFINITE.. He's always said he couldn't do what he really wanted to do and how tough it was when he was in the group. He also cut off all connection with other members, so Woohyun and Myungsoo had to ask for his phone number publicly on the press conference when "Tell me" was released. Furthermore there were reports that one of the members would be leaving, and people guessed that was L. It caused L to suffer a harsh wave of online criticism, so he had to personally clarify that he would never leave INFINITE. It turned out that the member in question was actually Hoya , and the boos aimed at L finally stopped.. The pain that L and his fans went through is still so vivid to me that I will never forget it..

As an additional note, after Hoya left the group, he once said on a radio show that INFINITE’s success was all thanks to him. As a Korean, I think that’s complete bullshxt. We usually got to know INFINITE through L, Woohyun, Sungkyu, or the song “Be Mine.” I won’t call Hoya a traitor like others do, but I will no longer refer to him as a member of INFINITE—just as he wished, and the members r obviously very disappointed in him and want to erase his existence completely too^ ^

As a Myungsoo-bias fan, it truly broke my heart to see him face online bullying during that time. Even so, I choose to rise above negativity and send only well wishes to his former teammate. I sincerely believe that INFINITE, as OT6, is now stronger and more united than ever ❤️

I'd like to add another perspective to this topic as someone who cares very deeply for all of them, including Hoya. I never took his leaving Infinite as anything other than him following his own path and his own passions. I had heard there were creative differences with woolim. I personally have never seen or heard anything to believe there is any type of malice factored in. I remember hearing that he maintained contact with Sunggyu and Dongwoo, but not necessarily the others. Which to me does not equate to bad blood necessarily. They're all adults who are busy pursuing their dreams in the ways they think best. And to be honest Hoya has always been awkward lol It's one of the things I find charming about him. So it doesn't surprise me that he wouldn't necessarily keep contact with everyone. I work just a normal 40 per week job and I can barely manage having more than a few close friends. Life is hard. I think we should all show each other more grace, kindness and understanding. I have nothing but respect and love for all of Infinite, always.

We won't have all the pieces for the whole picture of Hoya's leaving but yes, I guess all the hard experiences (performance that banned him from healing, following the Public and Fans' moral code(?)(how to live like in small things- shave your legs, bit less small things- don't share your heavy stuff too much to us etc) and company's order strictly, not getting proper management in his acting career etc) made him have a huge doubt in Idol's life. His leaving was surprise to the fans (but not so much surprise to the core-fans who noticed certain things way earlier i guess) and there are a few versions of what happened, floating at online, one thing for sure is he did his best and went his seperate way and that goes for our 6 memeber too (preserve their team for no matter what). p.s. The phone number change that Woohyun talked in Tell me showcase. I'm pretty sure it was a joke. If it was a serious problem (drowning emotions mixed), he would have never said that. That was a press conference, not even a private fan chat like servicing these days. Woohyun tell jokes a lot, that thing was his little disappointment cutely(^-^) wrapped up in a joke of hardly-jokey(?) tone, and this could cause surpriseness to those not familiar with Inft for giving each other hard jokes, but they don't talk about really serious stuff from back stage - work related (which is, not exactly their daily life things) most of the times. (Even if they do, they do it after months or years.)

He explained that he lost contact for a bit because he had a problem with his phone and he only had dongwoo’s and Sunggyu’s numbers memorised (if I remember correctly) so he messaged them instead. I don’t think it was personal

It's been so long and I'm able to leave a comment now hehe! Yes, my username is actually one of the Golden Child members name 😊 this series is actually one of the best shows that shows the different side of them and it's fun. I previously wanted to request another show called Ranking King where fans will do pre-voting on certain theme like "Who's the brain of the group" etc and they'll do games or missions to rank up their rank. If I could recall correctly it's in the year 2012. But let's focus on Infinite Showtime for now 😊 Thank you for the reaction to Infinite Showtime

This right here. I was an adult when Hoya left. Hoya & Woolim were pretty transparent about the reason. They’d been in negotiations for months but the bottom line is that they couldn’t come to an agreement on pay, royalties, artistic freedom. Hoya did say later that the idol life/ culture wasn’t something he liked. (When Stans stalk you & your fam, you’re prevented from dating, you feel overworked/under-appreciated, and overwhelmed by yr 5 most groups tend to lose at least 1 member). But being able to own your own intellectual property was on the rise with artists back then. There’s nothing wrong with wanting full credit/ control of one’s own creation(s). He invented dance moves which was hard to quantify but writing / composing music is what that business was all about. People also need to remember that what Hoya asked for in 2017 became standard practice by 2020. In fact, 1 by 1 each member dropped the management company but stayed a part of the group. That wasn’t an option for Hoya. It’s sad to think that Woollim ended up signing it all over to SungKyu in ‘22-‘23. Def if they were more flexible, Hoya would’ve stayed.
