Two amazing songs and performances, I especially enjoyed the first song. I think that song is from SUNGKYU's debut album? I have listened to the original version and I absolutely loved it - it's so different from this acoustic version! Also heard some of his song "41th" which sounded sooo BEAUTIFUL and now I really want to do a first listen to that album... 🫠

And that is how you get trapped in Infinite forever. The looks! The vocals! It's impossible to have only one bias. Yes Shine was from Sungkyu's solo debut album 2012. On another note, please don't feel shy to be yourself. Being yourself is what makes you special.

I’ve been singing this song AT people for the last 13 years when I miss them lmao. Anyone else do this? Just me? Ok. I’m really excited to focus on Sungkyu for next month’s request. He has SO much content and his music is absolutely amazing. I would love to hear any first listens you decide to bless us with. I’ve rewatched your 2 Infinite first listens multiple times because I’m addicted to that feeling of hearing the songs for the first time. Sungkyu's solo stuff is actually my all-time favorite kpop solo stuff! I listen to all of his albums on repeat. I'd highly recommend them all! I also enjoy Woohyun's stuff but a lot of it is more ballad-like! So I just have to be in the mood for it but both of their lives are perfection! I hope you are staying cool and I am so excited for more Infinite content but I will be waiting patiently!

Shine is amazing, and this arrangement reinvented it. The last chorus when he opens his voice from soft and gentle to pained and emotional wrecks me. I ended up just ripping (and clipping) the audio of this performance so I could keep it alongside the original because they are both so amazing, to the furthest extent that word can go.

You are right about his debut in 2012 was quite early compared to others. It's not rare that idols release solo stuff in early days by participating in drama O.S.Ts or cover something or maybe one song in their group albums, but a proper album with official debut on stage in 2 years is quite rare still. (except survival project groups I guess) But he was fully prepared for that early debut back then, bc he got in Woollim to debut for solo artist. (him and Woohyun did!) And also it was possible bc it was Woollim (who later released units of all memebers - very ambitious) and bc Nell, the band Sungkyu respects and loves so much was in Woollim. Them and Sweettune (who did Ifnt group stuff) made together his gorgeous solo mini album. His voice was perfect for western pop, which is a very very rare tone to have in South Korea (although all Ifnt members have quite a uniqueness in their tone as well?) and with that amazing vocal, he has been so great at rock, so it just felt heavenly to hear and watch his progress. If you grow more familiar to his ~2020(?) stuff in Ifnt and solo, you'll see he had a very sharp voice that he had to change later bc his musical demanded him to be more careful with his throat. It was for the best but I often really miss his old tone, insanely sharp but also quite heavy (two things in one - it was the point) bc it was just sooo incredible..🥲 (And for the lyrics, I think I heard him said he offered the materials - his experience and him and Nell members talked over and over, and the frontman wrote the final lyrics. All of the lyrics have the sentimental vibe that Nell produced in their own ones and it just has been suited Sungkyu so naturally - i think bc he understands the layers of them very well and has the ability to showcase them with proper emotions in front of the audience.) Woohyun's that track is in my opinion, represents a collection of his latest (in that released period) high note skills - very skillfull head voice required. He doesn't use his head this much in Ifnt albums - in them, he's more like throwing himself much directly and clearly full with emotions, like tsunami(?) - bc it's slightly off the vibe, i guess?? His efficient head skill was showcased in Lee Mujin Service and cover of Park Hyo-Shin. (available in YT woollim chanel) I enjoy this side of him but I guess to pick my favorites, it would be the tone he uses in Ifnt songs😆😆 (and for the solo, maybe waterly voice like in Cactus or warm and cotton-candy ish voice like in Kiss Me If You Love Me or his more familar tone in rock ballads - like he showcased in program Myung was to first appeared - Mask Singer.) I'm so glad you care for Ifnt songs and vocals 😊😊 And I really appreciate all of your plans for react to them!! And please take your time!!!!! Even though I can't wait to see all of them really😂 but as a person who gets exhaused easily I do understand reaction based on affection - explore and wonder truly immersed, this demands so much of one's energy. I totally agree with you (born in ’95 👉🏻👈🏻). It feels like everything nowadays gets overanalyzed to the point where it somehow becomes problematic 😭 Honestly, I think Sunggyu has the best solo career not just among INFINITE members, but in general. It wasn’t easy for an idol to debut as a solo artist with band music, and Sunggyu did that when it was still super rare. Also, the first thing he did after leaving Woollim was recruit band members. If I’m not mistaken, one of the members (probably Woohyun?) was a bit jealous that Sunggyu had another team besides them 😭 But in the end, his band ended up performing at all of INFINITE’s concerts. What a happy ending 💁‍♀️

Shine is one of my favourite songs ever. I have so many fond memories from when that album was released. Thank you so much for reacting to it 💛 no matter how Sungkyu sings it, it’s always beautiful. Woohyun’s was really nice too and calming. Such a nice video :)

OMMMG Thanks! i lovvvee shine and i love the original version even more but my favorite solo for sungkyu is 60 seconds i would lovvve to see your reacting to the MV! for woohyun my favorite song is close your eyes it's soooo amazinnng but i wish you will react to infinite's title tracks with subtitles the lyrics are masterpieces!

And this year Rocker Sunggyu came out in full force in his Level IV concert.
