5 men sitting around crocheting? I'm so in. This was so much fun! It was good that I watched this because I had no memory of EPIK HIGH being under woolim! I need to learn my history 🌝 Now I will remember for sure.

Another unexpected highlight was when I remembered to unbox the album I just got! I was supposed to do it at the beginning but I forgot that also. Anyway I hope you enjoy that as well and let me know all your thoughts in the comments~

Im so glad you watched this! It gives a lot of good background info on woollim and Infinite's start. Although Im sure it was not easy to follow since theyre leaving out a lot. Epik High and Nell were both part of Woollim before Infinite's creation. Nell is a rock band and the lead singer/songwriter is Kim Jongwan who they kept referencing. Kim Jongwan is also Sungkyu's biggest inspiration even before he became part of the same company. Youll hear more about Sungkyu and Nell in his Lee Mujin Service episode!! Both Epik High and Nell left Woollim. With Epik High I know the handling of Tablo's scandal was the main reason. Im sure someone in the comments will remember better than I do but I think the scandal had something to do with Tablo's education. Like someone accused him of faking that he went to Stanford. Something like that. It was false but Woollim didnt support him well. Im not sure if theres a specific reason why Nell eventually left. 🤷‍♀️ IM SO HAPPY YOU GOT MYUNGSOO!!! Seriously. It was meant to be! And part of the same shipment as your Juyeon signed album! Amazing! Im going to have to buy some copies of that edition of Like Infinite now. I had only bought the limited edition for some dumb reason. I didnt realize with that edition its like completely dedicated to a single member. Thats really cool. And great idea for making money lol now I want all of them. Also at the beginning of this when you said Mithra sounds like a Lord of the Rings name.. the armor Frodo wears is made of "mithril" so you were spot on 🤣 I had the same thought the first time I heard his name. Thank you for reacting to this! It made my day!

Thank you for the much needed clarity, I felt like I didn't understand some things due to my lack of knowledge and names I didn't recognize, but I love learning about it!! It's really disappointing when companies don't protect their artists like they should. Ohhh true about Frodos armor! Also isn't Gandalfs name Mithrandir or something? Oh how I would love to see Myungsoo in a Legolas wig and elf ears 🥰🥰🥰

Happy to help! And you're totally right I forgot about Mithrandir! I adore fantasy ✨️ imagining Myungsoo as an elf is making me want to write fanfics again 👀 if only work didn't drain all my energy. Anyway can't wait for the next reaction! You're the best!

Thank you for this video! I think Woolim hasn't always been very good at handling difficult situations (take the same situation with Myungsoo in 2013) Huge thanks to them for creating such amazing groups as Infinite, Lovelyz, Golden child, they were able to select talented members, choose a concept, give memorable songs. But it's one thing to be with a group at the peak of its popularity, and another to be able to support a group in difficult situations and a period of inactivity. And I think Woollim didn't cope with this. (Sorry, this is just my opinion)

I screamed when you got L! Such good luck! Epik High are a rap group, left to right Tablo, Mithra, DJ Tukutz. Tablo is an amazing lyricist. The scandal was someone accused Tablo of lying about graduating from Stanford. Basically Tablo graduated with a bachelor and masters in english and creative writing in under 4 years and they didn't believe it possible. But they took it to insane heights and it led to death threats. Tablo showed his official transcrips, traveled to Stanford to the Admin office to show it, his old professors spoke up. It was insane and basically went on for two years where Epik High's career was just ruined from it. There is a great podcast that Tablo did called "Authentic: The Story of Tablo" where he discusses the whole thing and how much if affected him. I'd highly recommend it. Also, Nell, is an alternative rock band that was also signed to Woollim and Kim Jongwan is the main singer and producer. He has helped SungKyu with a lot of his solo stuff which is what they were joking about. But Tablo also featured on a SungKyu solo song with Jongwan. They both showed up to SungKyu's last concert before enlistment and performed it with him. You can see it on Youtube. There is also a fantastic edition of "Standing Facing Each Other" with SungKyu and Woohyun from the same night.

I'm really glad that u got the L version!! I hoped you get that one or the group one and you really did!!!🙊🥳 All of those Woollim seniors of Infinite were artists so I felt some proud🤣 by that fact haha.. They were the first Idol that LeeJungyeop made so... the whole company were constantly getting out of money before Ifnt's success but I guess we had that like "even we starve but we're proud"(?) kind of thing.. Those Epic high members were on Jaefriends so you're remembering correctly!!

Yes. It's like Tablo said: Woolim / CEO Jungyeop took the music side of things really serious and it shows in Infinites (and their other groups) discography. They didn't do so great in other aspects, but making good music was always the main factor in Woolim. That's one good thing that can be said about that company.

loved this episode. it was so relaxed and even though i didn't know much about Epik High besides Tablo's various featurings, i really enjoyed getting to know 3 of the members here along with Infinite and Nell behind-the-scenes stuff XD don't really have anything to add, but man, Gyu's discography is so good so i hope you have a chance to dig into it more.

OMG not the LOTR references!! My heart can’t take it! 😍🥰😆 Mithrandir is Gandalf’s elvish name. So the descents of Numenor (Gondor) still used elvish words/ terms. It means Grey Pilgrim.

When WooHyun was talking about planning his career in Jr High he wasn’t a trainee. Some countries have students go to specific middle/high schools to help prepare & funnel them into their chosen career. I wish that were an option in the states, although people change their mind often I wonder how well that would work here.

Thank uuuuu! I find Epik High so funny, and I enjoyed this episode so much. I love how they said they were worried about Sunggyu being the leader because he’s too kind and might get taken advantage of, but then they realized he speaks for himself and would make a great lawyer 😭😭 That just explains his personality so well. Wow, it must be destiny to get L like this even without realizing 🙀 Congrats 💗💗

I was a fan of Infinite when I was young, but I understood Tablo at the time. Woollim was already known as a company that didn’t properly protect its artists, and if you look closely at his lyrics, they clearly diss Lee Jungyeop. As a Korean, the Tajinyo incident back then was more than just an entertainment industry issue—it was a serious social issue. Now, I’m glad that they seem to have cleared up their misunderstandings and become close again.
