I'm really enjoying these episodes and getting to see more of him with his sisters, it's so heartwarming 🥰 What I loved about this one is how they openly talked about JAEJOONG being adopted and even shared things they'd never said to each other anymore. So incredibly brave and vulnerable of them considering how it has been gossiped about in the past.

I could tell how hard and emotional it was for JAEJOONG to talk about, I really admire him for that. I hope you enjoy the reaction, let me know your thoughts in the comments~ 💙

💙 THANK YOU KAZIE FOR YOUR REQUEST 💙

I cried too when I watched this episode, I feel like seeing him as a child again and that clip of him and his mom in a live TV is also so touching and sad at the same time.. His birth parents are actually still alive, but Jaejoong has said in a Netflix variety show that he has cut ties with his birth mother.. He also has shared in Radiostar TV show that his birth mother was the one who suddenly called him in the middle of shooting one of his debut MV "Believe"

Ahhhh I love that you checked out this episode; it's such a lovely one, and these sisters in particular are so fun! Totally agree with you in thinking about his childhood illnesses being a manifestation of trauma; his birth mother actually gave him up but kept his older sister, and his parents had a very bad relationship if I remember correctly, so I wonder if it was a combination of pre-adoption trauma + adoptive stress that left him in that state 😢 Regardless, his relationship with his family is just SO lovely and genuine, and is especially important for audiences to see in aid of combating the stigma Korea had (and still does have to an extent) around birth children vs adoption. (Also fun fact; his nibbling had their baby, so he is officially now the first idol grandparent ! 😂)

What a touching episode! It really is so generous of the whole family to share these stories. I agree with you, Johan, I think it’s very possible that He was so weak and sick because on some level, he was so distraught with his biological parents not being there. A three-year-old may not remember a lot, but they are walking, talking, and know who their parents are, and they also know when they’re not there anymore. It must’ve been so confusing to have that happen, then suddenly be at this strange house with all of these women, even as kind and sweet as they were. I’m so glad they poured so much love on him and healed his heart…

I’m so glad you are enjoying the Funstaurant series ☺️ There’s one more that sort of ties in with this episode so I think I will likely request that in December. Sister 4 and 5 are fun! I remember when I first watched this I was laughing so hard watching them attempt to cut and cook things 😆 From memory this episode originally aired not too long after Say My Name’s debut so they included a lot of SMN songs during Jaejoong’s segments. Apologies for the late comment, I saw this posted but decided to wait until I was back from Japan to watch it properly 💙
