I'm not ready to leave them or the cottage, can we please stay a little longer 😭 We have seen a lot of happy endings in this show but this one was my favourite so far 🌝 I love this show so much but ESPECIALLY the last two episodes. Maybe it's partly because I was able to calm down (a little) and enjoy the show instead of being only scared the whole time.

I hope you've enjoyed my reactions because I stepped outside of my comfort zone and I'm so glad I did! I think it's also good that I didn't know how spicy it was going to be 🫠 I'll be patiently and happily waiting for all the future seasons to react to! i think what mainly sets them apart from scott’s situation, and why they can’t come out as “easily” after what he did, is that it’s not just about being gay. they’re also on rival teams, and that makes everything more complicated, especially because of how their own teammates might react. a small example of what could happen is shane’s mom asking if shane has ever let ilya win in a game; some people could see it as a betrayal, even if it isn’t i think they’re facing twice the criticism compared to scott and kip, since kip isn’t a public figure and definitely not a player from a rival team. on top of that, there’s this whole narrative that they hate each other, so it makes sense that they want to start by erasing that image and slowly get people used to seeing them at least as friends first

I really love that the last two episodes didn't have any overly intimate scenes, yet they were still the most watched episodes. This also served as a response to those who said it was only watched because of such scenes. Some people were ignoring their acting skills, but the last two episodes showed that they are both excellent actors and can portray any kind of scene well. Additionally, as someone who has read both books, I think the adaptation is the best possible version of the books. Especially considering it was made without a big budget and without expecting it to be this popular at first.

I took shane's comment, about how he thinks maybe he would have come out by now if not for Ilya, to mean that it would be too hard to keep the truth of his feelings about Ilya to himself if his parents knew his sexuality. it was easier to just keep the two worlds fully separate and lie about everything rather than have them know this one big thing but not the person who is behind his awakening and who he loves. as ilya always says, shane is not the best liar. if they knew he was gay they may have figured out the Ilya part

Ive never watched anything quite like this show... like closest thing was I watched Queer as Folk back in the day but it feels like this show is unique and one of a kind. Just imagine. Ilya’s mother passed away when he was young, his father had dementia, and his brother is a bitch who only cares about his money. When Shane told him about opening up a charity so that they can be together in the future, Ilya must’ve felt sooo relieved. I am not crying, you are. I am a liar I am crying. Fml. ok so without spoiling anything i loved the second book sm more, so if they execute this right it’s only getting better. as for the mum, i feel you cause in the books she seems way more chill, but i think they exaggerated the ‘manager mom’ trait to somehow justify why shane didn’t feel 100% comfortable to come out to them, and when she apologised for it he didn’t brush it away but replied with a “i forgive you”
