I think it was impossible for me to like anything more than their debut album but I was prepared for that before moving into this era and I'm so glad to see that their unique, warm, wholesome, quirky, pleasant, uplifting and relaxing signature sound is still here. I am so in love with the sound of their combined voices and harmonies and I really like all these songs so much.

I have been listening more to the album since I recorded my YouTube reaction and this first listen and I am falling more and more in love with the songs. I was in a weird mood today but I wanted to record something anyway and here we are! I hope you enjoy my reactions either way and I'm happy I finally moved on to this era because I want to catch up with their releases!

I'm looking forward to checking out more performances so if you have suggestions then let me know in the comments along with all your thoughts on this album~ 💙

This is unrelated but did they reference the Freddy Kreuger(?) movie in their MV? And I recorded this on friday the 13th? I haven't seen the movie and I don't know if it's connected I just saw the sweater that SEUNGHO wore in the MV kind of reminded me of that because I've seen him wear something similar as the killer in Dead By Daylight and I only know the reference because of a Nicki Minaj rap line where she says "it's friday the 13th and guess who's playing FREDDY"??? Let me know 🌝

02:27 I was going to wait until after this video to unbox mine but I paused so I could open mine and see which pcs I got. I have been blessed with Minwook and Yeojun. I am very pleased. And my stickers are Kyeongbae 😭

03:49 the pages you have the book opened to... you have to look at the side with the window. There's an interactive detail that I missed when I first flipped through the book. It's a really cool detail. They are seriously doing such cool things with these albums. I also love the little haunted house scene you can build. There is just something so nostalgic about all of this for me. I adore everything about it.

'You" is so good omg. It reminds me a little of How to Dance. Not so much because it sounds similar but it is giving me a little touch of that 80s vibe I love. I think especially in the parts where they do an effect on their voices. Like with Yeojun's part at 15:35 and Sungmin's at 16:34. Also, just on a personal level, I can already tell this will be my "How to Dance" of this album. I listen to How to Dance almost every day lol I'm obsessed with it. I feel like 'You' has that potential for me. I'm excited to listen to it more and especially in the car because that is my favorite place to listen to music

why is Bubble Tea making me want to cry lol in a good way of course I love it so much Im getting emotional about it help

I am in the exact same boat that this was gonna be hard to top Eternalt but it such a cute EP!! Paint Candy lyrics are CRAZYYYY 😳🫣 So, I’ve noticed they hold strong to this motif using a diminished 3rd in their melodies a lot of times (Paint Candy chorus, To The Woodz chorus, verses in Stay For Good.) Two notes that are piano that are really close together and when played at the same time can be very crunchy sounding but use them right in a melody and it makes the sound jazzy and colorful. 😎😍 I think that’s what my ear likes their music so much. They use that melody pattern very well and it keeps the energy very relaxing/cool. Whoever is producing for them are brilliant R&B producers. I want them for The Boyz tbh!!!! But that being said, I feel like these kind of melodies work specifically well for CYE and their vocal tone. I think it would be hard to put this sound on another bg. But I would love to hear TBZ vocals and this production…for research purposes Also, that hum at the beginning of Snowy Summer made me giggle bc that’s actually a very common drone to use in R&B tracks. Usually giving the track a trance like or outer body feel and here they used it so well to establish spooky vibes 👻

omg it was meant to be!! me getting xiang and you getting yeojun 🥰

johanmoon

proud to say that i see a lot of swedish names as producers for "you" and "bubble tea" (though i see swedish names a lot in kpop) 🥰 as always i'm so interested to hear your thoughts!! i also see that ADORA worked on the title track for this album as well which i love

omg sungmin has my favourite part in paint candy too! its honestly crazy cuz i was pretty iffy about him during project 7. whoever gave him that part was cooking!! his vocal tone suits it so well. they also did a sound bomb 360 for paint candy and snowy summer! just a suggestion if you wanted to check out their live vocals
