I'm crying AGAIN as I watch this while trying to make the thumbnail - the scenes with AUNTIE LEK. She's probably the most important character in this show and they met her at the perfect time. I love how she could portray her life, indentity and faith to them like a role model and parental figure to TANRAK. Without her I don't know if he would have been able to choose love over faith like he did. The hug between them was one of my favourite scenes because it felt so full of love.

As I talk about at the end of the episode I really am grateful that we got a happy ending. They were able to ask for forgiveness, forgive in turn to make amends and move on. I think in this situation it doesn't really matter who is right or wrong but that we can all choose love over fear and move on and I think that's what everyone did. Even though I personally think TANRAK has nothing to ask for forgiveness for and the fear that was instilled in him was by that church in first place. But also - that church saved him and gave him hope when he had none. They took him in when he needed it the most, although I'd like to argue the church does that for selfish reasons in the long run... I don't know if that matters here, lol.

I absolutely loved this show and everything about it. The storyline, the acting, that it's set in the 90s, GEMINIFOURTH being sooo good in it, the music was beautiful, all the symbolism, I love it! I really want to rewatch it just for myself and watch them fall in love again because that journey was so special. It felt ELECTRIC. In a lot of ways I really like that there were only 6 episodes. I think it was perfect, although I will obviously miss them so much. There were so many beautiful scenes in this episode that I had do save some screenshots from it that I will share below. I hope you enjoyed watching this series with me and I'd love to hear all your thoughts in the comments~ πŸ’™

the man who recommends Barth and Tanrak to go to the love motel is played by the show's director P'Aof lol, I love a good cameo and him doing this one is hilarious. He has a boyfriend (fiance?) of 21 years, and we don't know if anything from this show is based on that relationship at all, but P'Aof has shared that at least the themes of the show are based on his own journey of questioning that he went through as a catholic gay teen, obviously the show is also impacted by the experiences of the writer he worked with and other people that worked on the show or told Aof their stories, but I do think he's put a lot of his own emotions, lessons, and impactful romantic experiences during his youth in this show, which makes it all even more moving to me.

3:37 omg i loved midnight mass. it was so well done. I've stated this before, that I'm not religious, but i still find religious themes very interesting and i found myself getting so invested in the sermons in that show. there was such a quiet intensity in the actors delivery that pulled me in. Its so good.

if you still don't have enough of the show after watching this (how could anyone ever have enough) on the youtube channel of GMMTV you can find behind the scenes videos for each ep, as well as GeminiFourths reactions to the episodes (everything with eng sub). Particularly the reations to episode 4 and 5 are very insightful because they filmed them together with P'Aof. There's also a 30min long interview with P'Aof on the YouTube channel TODAY Play (recommending all of this for you to watch during your private time simply if you're interested). I really adore that man and his work, I wish he could keep working with GeminiFourth forever because they have a great dynamic and he directs them so well. He's my favorite thai bl director by far. I don't want to be annoying repeatedly recommending this but he also directed Moonlight Chicken, my favorite show, which GeminiFourth also played in and which I adore to piesces. He's also working on a musical version of the famous thai gay movie Love of Siam (2007) with GeminiFourth as the leads which should not take much longer to happen, though I have no idea whether/how it will be released for all of us to watch if at all.

27:42 I'm a mess lol it feels like a hug from a mom and he hasn't had a mother figure all this time 😭 im making myself cry more i need to stop

Omfg the last shot of tanrak at the hotel before the time skip scared me so much too, it was very much dead wife coded, like the cinematography used when portraying a loved one who has passed away... they were so purposefully misleading I WAS STRESSED. They really didnt have to make us go through all that lol.

Tabea

I felt the same as you, the fathers words in the confession booth didnt move me, the show didnt really address how the father and system of the catholic church played a part in Tanraks fear. That didnt come out of nowhere! Those horrible feeelings he went through stemmed from him growing up in that place!!! But im a salty atheist with religious trauma dont listen to me lol

Katie

28:18 barth's smile here 🫠

I loved the first half of the finale sooooo much. Auntie Lek really is a star, their meeting with her moved me so so much. And then Barth talking to his mom made me cry and cry and cry. The time skip didnt really work for me because their babyfaces cannot believably be aged up and it makes no sense for it to take 30 years for Kongdech to finally get ordained lmao, i wish they would have done a 10 year time skip instead to 2006 and then another one just to show them get married, I also think they could have maybe rounded it up just a little more with one or two extra episodes. Nontheless it was a very sweet ending and overall stunning moving and meaningful show. GeminiFourth have so much chemistry and did an amazing job portraying Barth and Tanrak. I want to rewatch the show over and over.

Katie

31:17 barth is so hot it's a problem. also this scene is so nice even though theyre at the cemetery like theyre being cute and smiling and if tanraks parents are able to see that... what could be more reassuring and comforting for them than seeing their son being loved and cherished and being happy 😭😭😭

Tabea

Your reactions were so funny and relatable kdkdks thank you for being you, I have so much fun rewatching stuff with you. I'm glad you enjoyed the show <3

Katie

31:53 the way tanrak looks at him makes me 🫠πŸ₯°πŸ« πŸ₯°

Katie

36:42 the way barth looks at him.. i want to timestamp every time they look at each other loool

Katie

41:49 i think maybe he thinks he should be the one in prison because he feels like he shouldve been the one to kill his father in order to protect his mother and not the other way around 😭😭😭 ive been crying during this whole scene im a mess. I think she wants him to pray for her because she wants him to get in touch with his faith again 😭 and i think seeing tanrak must have reassured her a lot because she knows he has a friend and someone to look out for him and because tan has the rosary i think shes hopeful tan can lead barth back to his faith too. this show is seriously so good 😭😭😭

Katie

55:02 i totally just absent mindedly said bless you when you sneezed and then was like oh yeah he can't hear me lmao

I also like that it was only 6 episodes personally. I prefer less filler and more meaningful content and i think this show had a perfect balance of all its elements. i also love all the thumbnails πŸ₯° im excited to see more of these two in the future! I feel really attached to them after this show. Im watching heart killers right now in my spare time but ill need to check out the other show of theirs you reacted to... i forget which one it is but ill find it when i get there. πŸ’™ thank you for your reactions as always
