Today I recieved my first ever copyright strike after almost 3 years on YouTube. The video was a live stage performance of Lovelyz. Kind of ironic because yesterday I uploaded my first video to my second channel that I created on 1st of January.

In order to protect my main channel I will gradually remove all my live stage reactions from it, unlisted or not. But I need to upload them in other places like Dailymotion, Google Drive or Vimeo.

I am currently considering starting up a plan with Vimeo where I would be able to upload 5GB a week with a maximum of 250GB a year, but what I have gathered from my googling is that they can do copyright strikes as well, which would defeat the whole purpose. And it would leave me ~$90 poorer for no reason. But with Vimeo I would be able to change the video link in all the posts without deleting the actual post.

I have gotten videos blocked on Dailymotion as well, but not recently and at least that is free, but not able to be embedded in my posts, which means I would have to delete all my video posts with all your comments and make new image posts for every single one, which is what pains me the most - the fact that your comments would get removed. But I guess I'll have to get over that.

The reason I'm telling you all is because I'd like to know what you think I should do in this situation, if you have any advice or tips and what you think is the best option. Maybe there's something I haven't thought of. I do these videos with you - my patrons & viewers, in mind.

So, once again - please let me know what you think in the comments of this post.
Love you all 💙

Vimeo Plus has a 30 day free trial which I will try for this month and see how that goes

How about Googledrive Johan?

Have you looked into the process of challenging the strike? Under US law, your videos would probably be considered “fair use.” I pursued a challenge once against Soundcloud, but they just ignored it (because they’re not a US company?) Not sure what rules would apply to you, but I’m sure YouTube has some process. Good luck!

It's good for longer episode shows but not a place to permanently store all my videos. Dailymotion is the best option for now and seems to be working, sadly I have to make image posts instead of video posts, but oh well.

I deleted the video but my options (as far as I understand) are to either contact MBC myself and ask them to remove the copyright strike or to take legal action, which sounds scary and unknown to me. I'm not sure what rights I have to use MBC's content in my video even though it was unlisted and not monetized. I just don't understand why the video wasn't simply monetized and/or blocked by them. But a copyright strike for a live stage? It scared me, but hopefully my channel is safe with the other unlisted live stage reactions I have there. But thank you for your suggestions. 💙
