I can't begin to express how proud I am of all the things Changmin was brave enough to open up about in this documentary. He is so strong and genuine for doing so, considering all the fears he had around that.

After watching this, I feel closer to him and so grateful to continue to support him. He's a very profound person and considering how far he's come in life, both career wise and but more importantly how he's evolved as a person. How he's learning from his struggles and trying show himself love and understanding and not compare himself too much to others.

I talked A LOT during this episode because I could relate so much to him and I just love talking about both physical and mental health. I've struggled a lot with both which has taught me so much about myself and life in general.

I would love to hear from you in the comments, as always! This felt like a really special thing that we watched together, as I always feel whenever I record my reactions lol.

Love you all! 💙🌻

The Boyz had the most challenging time in 2022. They kept on mentioning it. On top of that, Eric was gone for almost an entire year without knowing when and if he would ever return. They were feeling THE WORST but they had to go on tours, prepare a comeback, and have other busy schedules in between. They never had the proper time to cope with stress. This is why they broke down in tears in the last couple of months and IST decided to push their comeback til late February when it was actually supposed to be this month. The “bad image” of Q they were referring to is when he was a trainee. Literally, hundreds of trainees come and go. Since he was one of the first trainees at Creker, he had to watch all of that happen which probably made him anxious too. For this reason, Q said he avoided getting attached to other trainees until they were confirmed to debut together. He hated the feeling of losing a friend the next day. The members viewed Q as “cold,” not necessarily bad. So New and Q didn’t get along very well when they first met😂

Q invited Soobin and Huening Kai on the last day of their Seoul concert. I was sitting two rows behind them and they were interacting with Q’s family. It was so cute.

I watched in two sittings with a nap in between so I feel like I won't be able to say everything I wanted, but here are a few things: 1) I think its incredibly difficult for anyone, k-idol or not, to follow their dream and make their passion/hobby their full-time job. I actually avoided doing it myself and have kept my hobbies for myself, and work in something that I'm not really emotionally attached to specifically because of this. Making something your job is bound to make it less enjoyable, more work, and something that is a source of stress. It's very brave to push through and remind yourself of why you love that thing, and it is COMPLETELY normal to go through ups and downs with it. 🍂 2) I also agree that the idea of this idol-perfection is incredibly toxic, and I wonder if there's also a cultural issue at play here -- I don't think I can name a single Western celeb I have loved/followed who has been 'cancelled' for the unserious things kpop idols are cancelled for (specifically thinking of mis-speaking 'scandals,' dating 'scandals,' outfit 'scandals'...those aren't issues here, I don't think. More serious things are definitely cancel-worthy over here, too), and it does seem to me that a lot of the scrutiny comes from k-media/k-fans (correct me if wrong!). I wish that the image of perfection wasn't something they had to keep up and worry about. I feel closer to them by hearing about their struggles and empathizing/relating, and I wish they knew that. ❤️ 3) This goes for Q, and honestly the other idols I thought of were Chuu and J-Hope, but it must be so tough for your entire idol persona to be "a bright and happy and energizing person." Because while of course your authentic self is your happiest self, what he said about not being sure if his idol self or himself as Changmin were the true self is so valid: people know them as these idols who are happy, and the companies behind them will monetize and profit off of that image...but like the seasons, we change constantly and cannot always feel happy and bright, and it feels burdensome to try and be that when you're not feeling it. So not being sure where your persona ends and you begin, specifically when your image is built around you being a bright/happy person, is such a tough situation to go through. Very proud of him for all this introspection. 🌻
