I think the main point of boycotting this song is that we know that everyday items we use involve shitty people and our money goes to shitty companies/places. We know that. But it’s not realistic to not have a cell phone or a printer, or whatever it may be. However, with something like music, we get to make that choice. I’m not trying to be rude to Nigel or anyone else who’s streaming the song. I’m just a little bit tired of this “Oh yeah? Well why are you using XYZ then?” because it diminishes the whole reason for boycotts in the first place. I know some people use it as a gotcha or to seem better than others but that’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about the majority of people boycotting the single who want to use this choice to listen or not to do what they think is right. Before anyone twists my words, I am not saying YOU are wrong for whatever you decision is. I’m merely explaining the reasoning for this, and for boycotts in the first place. It’s impossible to never participate in something where money goes to bad people. No ethical consumption under capitalism and all that … that doesn’t mean never buy anything, because that’s not realistic because we are apart of a capitalist system which we cannot escape. It just means to be aware. Again, do not twist my words, do not reply with “omg stop making it political!”, because music has always been political. And this isn’t even “political” for most people, it’s just their morals. Everybody has different morals and I understand that. So I’m not trying to tell Nigel or anyone else how to live their life. I’m just responding to what he said in the beginning of the video since I was curious if he addressed it again.

Kaitlyn

no bc he did NOT have to say moist 😭

N day

The moist and old JYP-style made me have the same reaction as Nigel when I heard this yesterday😂😂

Dominique Brown

Boycott is a personal choice and I WITH NIGEL‼️‼️‼️. I’m gonna enjoy the song, enjoy stray kids much, enjoy Charlie puth music. One thing I hate most is forcing others view down someone’s throat.

Kaitlyn
>>137572563

YES omg we can all get the front row spots when they perform 😭

Del Tenório
>>137572956

I get you and I agree with most of what you said. I'm going to stream the song cuz I don't think this is the right one to boycott, specially after the met gala (and I agree that music can be political specially in cases like his). This boycott wouldn't only affect charlie but specially the skz who can use this oportunity to show people that thinks like those photographers and kpop haters in general, that they can make into the american market and trully show how great of a group they are. I understand who isn't going to listen to it and it's okay too. I just wanted to say that there may be better ways to do it since it's a song that holds others meanings to skz career yk. This isn't a criticism, I hope u get what i'm saying 🫶🏼

Katie Brown

Tell me why we had the same reaction to "this song has old style JYP elements" 😭🤣

surem
>>137572956

1) skz do not need a white man to show that they can be successful. as nigel even said in the video they already broke barriers here, charting and otherwise. they are very popular in the u.s. the photographer comment threw me off bc… no they shouldn’t try to appeal to racist people in the west. maybe i’m misunderstanding but i don’t get why you mentioned that 2) this is exactly the right song to boycott if you’re worried about it “hurting” the boys considering 3racha didn’t produce it. charlie did though so he will get more money from it than 3racha. there is no evidence that the song was sold to them and even if it was, again, he produced it so he would get royalities. even if this wasn’t true, i am not concerned about not giving millionaires even more money. i collect photocards so trust me i support them monetarily lol. so if you’re talking about it “hurting” them financially, that is the least of my concerns. if you’re talking about charting, then my answer for #1 applies. 3) i’m just very confused by what you think this boycott is about based off your response 😅 i am not being rude to you either, so thank you for being respectful. i hope you understand my responses are genuine i just did numbered short responses since i don’t wanna write out a whole nother essay. i really do not wanna argue so i won’t be responding to any other comments unless it’s nigel himself (which i doubt).

Vanessa D

There are perks to working late and always being wide awake until 2 or 3am... LOL I am so ready for this!!!

Del Tenório
>>137572956

I understand you. It wasn’t about money, it was more about the expectations that they may have with this song yk. Anyway, both sides are valid. Thank you for being respectful too ☺️

soz

IM SO EXCITEDDDDD 🔥🔥🔥

beadve

literally like i’m not trying to let charlie puth ruin this song for the straykids.

Kaitlyn

guys just view nigel as your opportunity to watch their new mv and content for this song without actually giving views if you are boycotting. now we can all watch and enjoy what they put their hard work in to here :)

koibitto

I just want you to know that I actually dapped you up so don't be giving me no shit next time saying i never respond to you lolol

I was abt to dab u up but the second my hand reached the phone u skipped me… NEVER AGAIN

Nigel - What Seungmin meant when he said his mouth was itching was that he wanted to tell some secrets. He was having a hard time keeping the info in. Seungmin is the worst at being able to keep a surprise and always gives spoilers - and we LOVE him for it. Hahaha.

Wait how many more albums till Nigel reaches the 5 star 🌟 album???

No matter what your stance on this collaboration is…people need to respect each other's opinions. Because Nigel is right. If we knew the history behind our everyday items…there are a lot of things we wouldn't have

It's nice that LK had a hand in the choreography it really brings it all together 😁

this is my opinion and everyone is free to make up their own mind. but morally, i cannot find it within myself to sit in the comfort of my own home and enjoy this song while it funnels money into the pocket of someone who supports and agrees with the horrifying atrocities that are happening in palestine. i get feeling like “you” (speaking generally) as an individual boycotting this song won’t make an impact so why should you have to miss out. i also get wanting to support the kids. but they do have other songs and other collabs that hasn’t got NEARLY as much attention as this one that we could be putting our energy into. this boycott is a game of morality, if you don’t see how supporting this song supports charlie and how that impacts something MUCH bigger than a singular song, than that’s up to you. i know some people don’t see worldly conflicts and struggles that don’t directly affect them as “their problem” but im not like that. i am unable to turn a blind eye. i also wanted to talk about being “hypocritical” because we are probably using items that come from problematic places that we don’t even know about. while yes, this is 100% true, i also disagree with this sentiment. whenever these problematic companies become “exposed”, we see people immediately band together against them. but how do people come to find this information? by talking about it. by making posts and constantly speaking about it and spreading the information to those who may be unaware. if i know that a brand is participating in harmful actions, i do my best to avoid them. but im also only human. it is impossible to know what goes on or who is behind the scenes of absolutely everything. but, when the opportunity arises to bring awareness and do my part, you bet i’ll do everything i can. boycotting is not only to stop funds going to these companies, it’s to bring awareness. by calling out companies and celebrities, you are actively bringing attention to these matters. VERY IMPORTANT matters. but with all this being said, at the end of the day, it is your (again, speaking generally) decision. me personally, i want to do everything i can to bring attention to what’s happening in palestine. and as a kpop stan, this is one way to do it. in the meantime, i will be streaming skz’s other collabs and other songs and generating streams and money directly to them. to add, im sure that the song will be great. i’m sure that their choreo will be great and so will their mv. but at the end of the day, it’s just a song, which means so little compared to what is happening in palestine right now. (seriously, last note) i mean this very long comment (sorry) in the most respectful way, if anything seemed harsh it’s because i care so much about this topic and wanted to share my thoughts. i hope i made some of y’all see this in a new light.

Angela Salazar

Always love your reactions, Nigel. Watching the Behind the Scenes for Kingdom would be a great watch for you to see more of their practice for songs/performances :)

arshia girotra

i hope the boys get the attention they deserve on this song. i know there is controversy over this song bc of the feature but im here for the boys. they deserve this, this is a whole new door of opportunity. i really hope they get the recognition. the song and the music video are amazing.

C

Nigel how are you going to talk about my back while I'm eating.... Uncalled for. Anyway I'm so excited for this era! They're US debut! I'm so excited and proud

ThePlaidFox

They really said "MerMay? bet" lol In the art community May is always the month we do mermaid art. I'm expecting to see some awesome fanart. I might try my hand at it too. Never some SKZ fanart but good time to try as any. 🧜‍♂️

>>137601696

Couldn’t agree more with this! I can't in good conscience support this collab or anything that has to do with it. I love stray kids and I'll continue to support them and the music THEY make but this song isn’t it. So I'll be streaming their other music like I've been doing since becoming a stay.

_.moogsie_

idk if this is only me but anyone else notice that Felix says "in a sense" a lot when he speaks English hahaha its cute

Chelsea Daniels

Lmao now I’m just waiting for you to react to the MV

Nikibear

If you haven’t seen the MV yet it’s amazing but all I’m going to say is, 32 seconds in… Darla. Finding Nemo. 😂

>>137632115

He also says " so i think that's what's really important" or " that's what really matters to me" he would say something like " with this new track we'd like to show some new colors to stay. our lovely stays around the world, give love and support, in a sense ( something something ) and yeah that's what i think's really important. If it weren't for stay we wouldn't be heRE ( in Aussie accent ) just me? nah

RitaaB

I love these intro videos and seeing them being so professional and serious about music. Also, we told you Nigel to catch up with the album reviews cuz another on is coming!!!

Aymeryia Carey

exactly cp is not the straykids I got into kpop for THEM and them alone nobody running me and wtf I do with my life this song is not funding genocide so but FUCK HIM WILL ALL MY HEART

mya ♡

No offense Nigel, but your point makes no sense. I have never commented on your videos before because I usually enjoy them, but I can’t stay silent right now. The reason people are boycotting is to spread awareness to JYPE that this is NOT what we support or want to see. Because nobody is boycotting enough, Stray Kids have been put in a huge ‘BLOCKOUT’ list for 2024 - a list of celebrities that are zionists and need to be blocked. Can you believe that? People who don’t know Stray Kids are going to hate them and think they’re in support of a GENOCIDE (don’t be afraid, say it) just because ‘stays’ are hyping up this collab so much. Stays who have BEEN HERE through the hard work SKZ have put in and the stuff they’ve gone through understand that boycotting one song and holding them accountable will NOT flop their career. We have had to do this MANY times before, yet they are still the most popular 4th gen boy group. And you can say “If you knew what you used daily…” sure. But, the thing is, phones, tv’s, etc. you only purchase ONCE. This is not a repeated perchase. Repeatedly streaming the song and sharing it on a huge platform? That’s spreading it and directly giving money to a zionist (and r.pe apologist, yes there’s proof. he’s always been a shitty person). Not only are the zionists getting almost ALL of the profits (I suggest you check the lyric distribution and credits), Stray Kids will get all of the hate. Also, Charlie Puth has not mentioned this song ONCE. He’s never reposted a tweet or post about it, liked any, said ANYTHING about it. He is leeching off of the kids. It is HIS song that he put them on to give him more recognition. And, yes, boycotting DOES work. if you haven’t seen that it does, that’s because you’re refusing to see. Do y’all remember that in September of 2023 (last year) Changbin said “The future is not far away. It is the present that will face us soon… Let’s do what each [of us] can do in our own positions.” And Han said; “So join us now, for the future. And while we’re here, we must continue taking action to make an impact. It is the small movements that, once joined, will be able to change the world on a bigger and broader scale.” Or when it comes to this song, do we suddenly forget their own words? Sorry if it comes off harsh but too many people are being nice. This is not a ‘nice’ situation. People are dying daily. Losing limbs, being held in concentration camps (quite literally. Again, if you didn’t know, that’s because you’re not looking). The song may not be funding the genocide, but it’s funding someone (two people, actually) who supports the genocide. At this point, it’s a battle of morals. Anybody who cares about Stray Kids will understand how harmful this collab is to them. Obviously I really like your content, seeing how I PAY for it, but I refuse to stay silent about this. I hope you understand and make the right decisions going forward.🙃🫶 Again, not trying to be mean but I have been seeing too many tone-deaf people and it’s genuinely infuriating. Everyone would care more if it was your own family, your own homeland.

mya ♡
>>137715400

new stays are obsessed with charts. charts will mean nothing if their reputation is tarnished to hell

maru

Hi Nigel this is my first time leaving a comment because I usually enjoy your content and have nothing to say, but I guess we can't always stay silent. I hope you won't ignore this!! I really like your contents but your comment on Charlie Puth and the boycott is a bit.. tone deaf? Sorry if what I'm going to say doesn't make complete sense, English is my third language, but again I really feel the need to say something. When you say you don't care about what Charlie Puth did (and supports), and that you just want to support Stray Kids, you're coming across as someone who just wants to ignore reality. I know that reacting is your job, hell I even pay to watch extra videos, but do you really think that giving that man extra money, extra views, in your case even promoting the collab is morally correct? I mean, you obviously do. This is not even a simple collab, apparently he has more lines than anyone else, he's the first person credited in the making of the song... and he hasn't even promoted the single. If anything he's talking about his upcoming music so why do we need to support a zionist? AND rape apologist among other things? Skz won't go bankrupt if we boycott ONE song. They won't disband if we voice up what we think is right. People are dying, there's a genocide going on out there. Sure, enjoy the song, react to the music video. But please don't call us hypocrites when all we want to do is stop giving bad people a platform. We're boycotting Charlie Puth, not Stray Kids. Let's be better persons stays :)

Monica
>>137729582

That’s your opinion and we don’t all have to agree with you. Maybe you tone deaf. Not everyone has to agree with you. I want Hams to release US hostages. Are you tone deaf to that. We all want different things but I’m not going to force you to agree with me. The great thing is you have options. Stay or leave simple

Monica
>>137715400

I’m not a new Stay and I’m supporting. Stop making everyone out to be a terrible person Because they don’t agree with you. Hamas is a terrorist group and I want our US citens released from hostage. Which to be honest, they probably aren’t alive. Both sides suck and I will listen to this song. Go volunteer

Jeni Petrie
>>137715400

Stop using their words from Global Citizen implying they were talking about the Israel/Palestine situation because they weren't. They were talking about global hunger, poverty, injustice, etc. Not this specific situation.

Jeni Petrie

I love seeing Leeknow so confident with his vocals, esp in English. I know he's been working so hard and it really shows.

Chrissyy89

Nigel, I need you to know how much I love and appreciate you. Because I do. So much 💛

maru
>>137729582

it's not about opinions, you're either against genocide or not. No one is forcing anyone and I never mentioned hamas, you're getting defensive. But since you mentioned it, just know that even the families of the hostages are protesting in Israel to stop their war crimes against the civilians. This genocide didn't start last October, it has been going on for decades. Please get educated and informed before coming at someone.

mya ♡
>>137715400

who said anything about HAMAS? i am talking about innocent palestinian children and citizens.

mya ♡
>>137715400

they obviously weren’t talking about this situation but their words still stand.

ItsSteph!
>>137715400

They are NOT in the blockout list because of LMB, they are there because they attended the MET Gala. Boycotters are the ones that kept trending SKZ, JYPE and Zionism together which added to the MET situation. While most Stays had the right idea, many haters "joined" just so they could bash SKZ and push the narrative for them to be added to the list. If Stay just kept it to themselves I guarantee no one would associate them. How do I know? Baby Monster literally had a song GIFTED to them by CHP, and Ahyeon sent a message directly to him and no one bats and eye. RM's released is being praised when HYBE itself is also being boycotted. It just feels very targetted towards SKZ because they are the only ones being called out. If people are just gonna believe a random list of celebrities and assume everyone is pro genocide without making their own research THEY are the ones being ignorant and "not looking" enough. Also, sorry but what do you mean devices are a one time purchase? Maybe for you but many people change their devices incredibly often? One single device you buy is worth more than thousands of streams and even if one person only buys one, millions of items are sold in general every single day. Do you deep dive into every single song/artist you are listening to right now and boycott all of them? You have ZERO proof of how the payment distributions and agreements of this collaboration went. Of course Charlie has more lines, just like LiSA has more lines in Social Path. SKZ still have over 60% of the lyrics of LMB and they released an OT8 version with 100% line distribution. We may have a general idea of how payments might go, but to claim CHP/Goldstein will get "almost all" the profits is incorrect and has no basis or proof. He could've just sold the song with a set pay (he still needs to be credited), he could have royalties, or both. Usually bigger payments go the main artists and songwriters which are mainly SKZ. We simply do not know for you to state it so matter of factly. I'm not defending CHP, I don't care about the guy, but he DID promote the song on Instragram (one of his biggest platforms he rarely uses Twitter). Also, why the hell would he promote it? It is SKZ's song not his #1, and #2 the fandom hasn't welcomed him at ALL. Since the announcement he has gotten nothing but hate (I'm not saying is not deserved, I'm saying that he knew he was in hot water, getting involved with the fandom would only cause more issues). For example, Binnie sharing ONE picture caused so much chaos. CHP doens't need to leech, wether we like it or not he is a very well established artist with more than 4x the amount of streamers SKZ has. It was just a collab they did, it is not that deep. I respect you being very vocal about boycotting and not supporting, but please speak factually. Also, stop assuming everyone that supports this song "is not looking" or that they are zionists. This situation is a lot more nuanced. If YOU took the time to "start looking" yourself you would realize most people agree with your stance. Having a different approach or opinion around how to navigate it doesn't change that fact. So many of are vocal, donate, share and join events, just like everyone else. Also, please stop using their speeches of Global Citizen, it creates a false narrative. I know what you are trying to do, but not specifing can cause misunderstanding. We know what SKZ stands for, we know they donate, we know they listen and have shown (as far as we can tell) that they are good people. But this song was made way back in September before Oct 7th happened and most people started giving more attention to the horrible situation happening in Palestine. They are bound by a contract and have to work and abide to what the company says. JYPE is not gonna stop a massive production and release for ONE man they collabed with. It is the reality. Don't stream that's fine. But don't tell people what to do because no one is telling you what to do.

mya ♡
>>137715400

First, yes, devices are normally one time purchases. Everyone I know has had their phones, TVS, laptops etc. for YEARS. For example, I’ve had my current phone since January 2021, and my current laptop since December 2020. a lot of people don’t have money to switch devices often. (also, i can’t remember the order you said things in so sorry if this reply seems out of order) Second, if you look at the replies under this one comment I left, you can see very many people do NOT agree with my side. Same situation on FANS (people on that app are insane). And yes, they are on the boycott list because of the MET Gala, but I’ve also seen lists that mention LMB, and if they don’t, someone in the comments will. To be frank, this song is destroying their reputation. Also, with the tags I’ve seen trending, none of them include SKZ and Zionism in the same tag… Not sure what you’ve been seeing, but for me that has not been the case. JYPE and Zionism, sure, but not SKZ. Also, they would’ve been on the list anyways, like you said, because of the MET Gala. It does not matter what tags we are trending or what we’re upset about in our fandom because if someone isn’t on the K-pop side of social media, they will never see that. They are on the lists because they attended the MET Gala, not because people who don’t listen to K-pop somehow know about all the trending tags and searches… The other people you mentioned did not attend the MET Gala, and that’s why they’re not on the lists… Listen, I don’t know nor care about any group except SKZ, so I have no idea about the RM or Baby Monster or whatever situation. If it feels targeted towards SKZ, maybe bring up in other fandoms about how what the artists are doing is wrong and start discussions. Genuinely, I don’t know shit about any other group or fandom. I know that STAYS are being vocal because we want our boys to be better than the collective. Every fandom has haters & antis, especially because they’re so big. Even if this song was gaining all praise, there would STILL be antis saying weird shit. We have to ignore them. Even though i’m choosing to boycott the song, I’m still sending love to the boys through their posts, bubble, and by buying other albums when I can. ChP will definitely get royalties on this song. He’s in every section of the credits. From looking at the credits you can make a guess that SKZ will not be receiving the majority of the income this song brings in. Even if that’s wrong, he’s still receiving money and attention from it. Also, even if he’s getting hate he should still at least mention it once? Everyone SKZ has collabed with has mentioned their collab at LEAST once, even IF they’re already big artists (Tiger JK, Lil Durk, etc.). Also, ChP is NOT a big artist anymore. Literally nobody in the west actually likes him nor listens to him. Seriously. If you say you listen to ChP you get made fun of. Even without that, it shouldn’t be all about the attention and money? If he respected SKZ, he would post at least something about it. Even the producer who EVERYONE hates posted a picture with them (unfortunately). I wouldn’t know about the insta story because after the collab dropped I blocked him. Even then, the collab had been announced for weeks at that point and he had a lot of time to post something. Changbin post should NOT be getting hate, but you have to understand how stays will be disappointed in that post. The thing STAYS want is for SKZ to not be associated with such a terrible human? I don’t know why anti-boycotters make that seem like such a horrible take. If we don’t stream the song, it won’t get popular (which people have already failed at, lmao), and if it doesn’t get popular it’ll sink into their huge discography and hopefully be forgotten about. I don’t see how using their GCF speeches created such a “bad” narrative? Even if they’re not talking about this situation, it can definitely be applied to this situation? That’s something I will never understand. They stand up for everything else and donate, and these words can definitely be applied to this situation, but it’s not okay to do so? And yes, everyone is aware that they’re bound by contract to JYPE… Nobody is asking JYPE to drop the song. We’re asking STAYS to stop drawing attention to the song so that JYPE can see that this wasn’t received well and can avoid situations like this in the future. Trust me, I will not be leaving any more comments. The replies and conversations i’ve had this past week has shown me everything I need to know about stayville and people in general. It’s clear nobody on either side is changing their minds. I’m just hoping that if SKZ start getting masses of hate, y’all don’t blame the boycotters because even though we boycott, we are STAYS. Anti-boycotters keep creating a false narrative that boycotters are hating on SKZ? I think if someone is hating on SKZ, it should be obvious they’re anti’s posing as STAYS… Oh, and yes, I do end up doing a deep dive on all of my favorite artists and come to my own conclusions, but that’s fairly easy for me because I only listen to two artists, lmao. I don’t enjoy finding new people to listen to and I’m satisfied with what my faves put out. But yeah, I do. And right now it’s not like anyone really has to do a *deep* dive, because information is trending everywhere.

mandasue

Does anyone just feel bad for Skz? Like damned if they do and damned if they don't? I do understand both sides of the argument but I also just feel BAD. Imagine being invited as a WHOLE GROUP to one of the most exclusive, high-profile events for the first time after watching your teammates enjoy fashion ambassadorships and all those perks, just to have it destroyed by rotten photogs. AND THEN gettin boycotted because you attended. AND THEN working with a western singer/producer that has already worked with other kpop artists (to no detriment to either) to just receive EVEN MORE hate and boycotting. All of this after the Chan's room controversy, the Hyunjin controversy, and the Coca Cola controversy. Seriously, all support or boycotting aside; I just want to wrap these grown ass men up and give them the biggest, warmest hug just to let them know I still love them, admire them, and always will. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

@ItsSteph! God bless you for taking the time to write this and trying to explain to the "protesters". I hope most of them read this and understand where a lot of us are coming from because you've worded it articulately. It's exhausting seeing them joining the hate train online against a group that is under contract to a company that has the final say on everything they put out😮‍💨 a group they claim to "love" but are yet willing to slander, accuse and misquote all for the sake of their online activism. That being said no one here supports genocide ffs it's contemptible and immoral and there's a special place in hell for those who kill innocents but like you said everything we buy and use daily in the world is most likely funding those big corporations that are backing the wars. Some might make the argument that they don't buy such things but you don't know what's owned by whom tbh, a lot of companies usually have a parent organisation they fall under so moralising specific things without all the facts is HYPOCRISY at its peak. That being said everyone needs to take a deep breath and figure out how to take a stand for what they believe in while respecting their fellow humans and without witch-hunting others🤍

I think Lee Know was joking about falling safetly, but you do learn how to fall safely in martial arts, and he did martial arts when he was younger so he could very well have been serious lol

I do. It sucks because it's been every new thing they've done in the west has been embroiled in some sort of poo poo controversy, and I don't want them to get discouraged, feeling like they can't do anything right in this part of the world. I agree with Nigel on the boycotting stuff, and it bums me out that the Kids are getting lumped in with it.

Why not just support stray kids by listening to their stray kids only version
