There really isn't any lore thats contradicted by the show. There was some stuff that Todd Howard had to come out and explain the timeline a bit more. There are a few things that are just difference between gameplay design stuff and how it would actually work (power cores last like 5 minutes in game as an example)

I heard about the controversy over the timeline, and I haven't seen Todd Howard's explanation. But it really shouldn't be surprising after (probably) a protracted nuclear winter and whatever else that there aren't groups of people who disagree on something as seemingly innocuous as what year is it exactly, especially when considering we're pretty sure two centuries have passed.
