Frieren is so good, only half way though and its really great.

The dub is in my opinion ok. I would prefer, if you would switch to the sub but decide which you like better.

I don’t agree, the dub is fantastic. I usually watch anime’s subbed but I changed halfway through Frieren and I liked it better

Another thing many names and places are named in german. Here the translations of the important names you heard so far: Frieren = freezing / to feel cold Heiter = Cheerful / Happy Eisen = Iron Himmel = Sky Fern = Far

I can understand that, I'm just very used to the original VAs and some later translations and voices don't fit so well in my opinion. I watched a few episodes with the english and the german dub.

Regarding the sound design the animators had access to part of the soundtrack before finishing some of the scenes which leads to some very great ones later on

Sub and Dub are both really good for Frieren. I usually have a strong opinion on one or the other, but here they're pretty equal.

I always watch anime in original VA as a purist. I find English dubs never seem as good as the orginal.

please stick with the dub, It's really good and I felt the jokes landed more in English

I personally find dubs odd mostly because they'll try to match the mouth movement and say things in a weird way. If reading subs doesn't mess with your enjoyment then it's almost always a better experience (imo)

This is just plain old mind games. Dub is fine, stick with it.

I've seen both versions and imo the English dub is ok but it does lacks some of the emotional impact of the original. I'd recommend checking out Himmel's funeral in the Japanese dubs and see for yourself which version you prefer.

I like the sub much more, but since it's synced I don't mind if you go with the dub. You'll miss some great phrasing, but have more time to enjoy the beauty of the animation. Season 2 has been announced, but is probably years away. I'm glad you didn't wait for it before watching Season 1.

Dub is amazing. I say stick with dub. And tbh since the episode is synced and we don’t hear your audio it doesn’t really matter for patrons since we can sync whatever version we prefer. It really just depends how much it affects YouTube views and most importantly your enjoyment
