I can't wait for the remake. The padding really lowers the quality of this anime. It's such a shame and the reason many people switch to the manga (myself included). Ultimately, you need a lot of patience with how Toei handled the situation of not wanting to get too close to the manga.

Brook really is great and you will love him once you hear what he told Franky. I think you focus too much on the panties joke. It's not a big deal. The way he asked if he could see Nami's or Robin's panties was so casual, that even I as a woman found it funny.

The Thriller Bark is in the Florian Triangle for a reason. No sunlight can shine through so the bodies without shadow can still survive. And yes, the stronger the dead body is combined with the strength of the shadow, the stronger the zombie. So you can imagine the strength this Oz zombie will have, once he gets Luffy's shadow.

The manga chapters are short sometimes so the pacing is the padding the anime has to do to fill in the time. I don't think there is just enough source material to fill out each anime episode, hence why the pacing sucks sometimes in OP anime.
