Pretty sure Myrelle did do something to Lan. She compelled him to have sex to see if it would make him want to live.

Nynaeve part always make me cry

The last 10 min is the reason. It's such an iconic scene that you will remember when compared to so much of the other stuff that just blends together

Nynaeve with the Malkieri merchant always makes me cry (when I read it, hear it, or think about it).

This chapter is only famous for the very end w/ Nynaeve in borderlands. It's my favorite moment in the entire series. You need a spouse that will literally gather an army for you. Goals!

Dsoona

There were a couple of chapters that were close to being voted the reaction chapter instead.

Andrew Chan

All about that last section. I get choked up every time reading that.

The Nyaneve/Lan section is always listed in the top moments of the series. It just hits hard, and gets better on a reread. I forgot how long the rest of the chapter was when I voted for it.

The wot fan base has a hard on for Nyneave that's why they voted for it. Personally I would have voted for Ch. 23. But I despise the discord app and will never go there.

When you're thinking about the books months after you've finished them, this chapter is infinitely more memorable than 19. IMO it is the climax of Nynaeve's entire story arc. I assume this is why it was picked over other (probably better) options. That said, 19 made for a better reaction than 20, and it really seems in general that action chapters work best for these. Dumai's Wells and the end of Winter's Heart were two other great reactions whereas stuff like this, or Perrin dealing with the Aiel interrogation, are maybe more effective to just read and discuss in the book club.

I am always crying by the end of this chapter, one of my favorite moments in the entire series! That said, 19 was a way better chapter to react to, the death gates are always something that has stuck in my head.

Nicholas Reed

"You already have plot lines to finish at home!" The plot lines to finish at home: Perrin continues waiting for the right time to rescue Faile. Mat deepens his relationship with a slaver. Egwene is captured again.

I'm one of those people who didn't care about it nearly as much as others, but for fans of this couple, I get why it's considered iconic.

Ciaran McSavvy

The end of Nynaeve's section is one of the most iconic moments in the series but definitely not the most reaction worthy chapter.
