I like Mononoke but i think his greatest creation was NausicaA of the Valley of the Wind, absolute masterpiece and an early work, released in 1984.

I love princess Mononoke. It’s my favorite, but Nausicaa of the Valley of the wind is my second. The next one they should react to should be Nausicaa

Dirt Birb

Cant wait to watch after work today!

Shugoshin

It’s amazing such works can come from a man so loathed by his own family. Not nerdy but Miyazaki. The stories about Miyazaki are wild. To paraphrase Miyazaki’s son: bad father but can’t deny the animation talent.

Dario Schiller

kinda weird that they made his fiance his sister in the english dub

Jessica

It bothers me every time I watch this movie that he doesn't CLEAN HIS CHOPSTICKS.

Jessica

It takes 10 men to open that gate, or the magic arm of hatred.

JSC

This movie legit scarred me when I was a kid. I thought it was just a regular cartoon! lol

Nicholas Reed

Someone may have mentioned this on the discord, but the English language screenplay was written by Neil Gaiman, which is another part of why the dub is so well received.

Christian Kleman

Such an amazing film! And yeah, the quality of the English dub is a little less surprising when you realize it was written by Neil Gaiman. And what a star-studded cast too!

I agree that Nausicaa would be a great one to react to. In my opinion, the manga is Miyazaki's true masterpiece. The movie is a wonderful early look at his talent and a wonderful realization in film of the first part of that story. But the movie always seems to disappoint when I watch it, because I know how much more story there ought to be. It's not really the fault of the movie, the story would take another 10 years to finish, but the movie's ending is a shadow of the masterwork that would follow.

Michael Bryson

I 100% agree you must watch Nausicaä it was the animated movie I loved most from my childhood.

Samuel Eng

i loved this movie however i remembering hating the ending however its deep and not something i understood when i was young
