Esperanza and Rain are tipsy tonight, giggling and hiccupping softly after sharing a few sweet sips of fermented apple cider in the warm stable. Their cheeks are flushed, eyes glassy with a happy haze, and their heavy bodies sway gently as they lean against each other. Esperanza’s soft voice trembles with shy excitement, while Rain’s playful “fufufu” turns into breathy little laughs. Both mares are in heat, their tails lifting instinctively, bodies warm and sensitive from the alcohol and the season.

They whisper to each other about their young master, wondering if he’ll come check on them soon—hoping he notices how ready and needy they feel tonight. The stable smells of hay, sweetness, and quiet anticipation.
