A lot of the clans beyond the wall have a less patriarchal society, women can be warriors and even leaders of clans. They can choose who to marry to who to even have relationships with as they don’t really believe in Sin. It’s more the physical prowess and fighting capabilities/ability to lead and survive that gains respect and autonomy beyond the wall, not gender. Hence why the rest of the wildings (except for the one in love with her) aren’t too worried about her sleeping with Jon. If she trusts and respects and wants him, they’re mostly willing to accept her judgment and choices.
