Your face right after the episode ends is exactly how all the gamers were feeling after like 30 mins into the second game. I've been waiting for this episode since the show got announced and I'm so glad the first season brought in all these new fans so that we get to see how new fans reacted to Joels death. Definitely heartbreaking, ESPECIALLY because of the way Ellie treats Joel leading up until his death. Be glad they changed Abby's kill shot. In the game she smashes Joels head in with the club instead of stabbing him with the broken one and it is MESSY.

a sad point i just considered - joel can't say "your father was fixin to kill my daughter and i stopped him" cuz then they'd take elie with them and start the vaccine mess all over again. didn't guy on TV say there would be no cure or vaccine or antyhing. Game over!

If I were in Joel’s position, I know I would have made the same choice. I would have saved Ellie, no matter the cost. After everything they had been through, she wasn’t just some kid anymore. She was his reason for going on, his second chance. But I’d also like to think I’d have the same awareness Joel shows later that even the right choice for one person can have devastating consequences for others. When Abby finally finds him, Joel doesn’t fight back. He just looks at her and gives these small, subtle nods. To me, those weren’t just gestures. They were acknowledgments. He understood exactly why she was doing what she was doing. He didn’t need it explained. He knew this was a consequence of his past, and in a way, he accepted it. And honestly, if I were Abby, and someone had killed my father the way Joel killed hers, I would want revenge too. I’d feel the same burning need to make it right, even if it broke me in the process. That’s what makes The Last of Us so tragic. Nobody is completely wrong, and nobody is completely right. Joel saved the person he loved. Abby came for the person who took everything from her. In the end, Joel’s only real frustration wasn’t with her. It was with how long it was taking. He had already made peace with the fact that this moment was always coming.

I think the infected would’ve attacked either way once that guy ripped the roots out of the sewer system. If anything, Abby actually bought them some time, ironically. By triggering the closer horde and leading them away with Joel and Dina, she may have delayed a larger swarm from hitting the others even sooner.

man, I haven't cried over something like this in a while. Just like you Addison, i didn't see this coming. I thought no way are they really about to do this. really actually I'm so annoyed, I read a book trilogy like this once, you're currently reacting to the movie adaptation so I won't mention the name, but I was so mad, in the 11 years since I haven't read any book by that author. I still feel that they have to find a way to undo this because this is just unacceptable!

Abby's Father was about to kill a girl, without her knowledge or consent, for the unproven theory of a cure, a maybe. Taking away a man's daughter, his second chance at being a father, that doctor took an oath to protect life, and there he is ready to cut open a person's brain on a hunch, not even trying any other method first or discussing it with Ellie. So, Jrome, you would let someone kill your daughter on a hunch, knowing you delivered her to those people for a death sentence? At least Joel, in the end, knew what he did and accepted the consequences, Abby just knew a lawless gunman killed her dad, not the real reasons why and she never even asked.

You video game players are excellent at not spoiling bc I saw NOTHING about Joel dying at ALL. I'm low key mad at yall, cause why ain't nobody warn us non-game players???!!! I am sick and was staring in silence, horror and confusion just like Adison at the end.

I would've been killing Innocent people that wasn't tryna kill me that doctor didn't get a chance to speak to him head shoot and that was more of Marlen's daughter than his and wat he did was for his own selfish reasons and that trip was about a year long and half the trip he wasn't claiming her and if Joel didn't think she was going to be ok with wat was going to happen y did he lie about it

It's not like he had to go to work tomorrow he could waited until she woke up and asked her wat she wanted to do he already killed all the soldiers it was way better ways to handle that instead of killing everybody

This is how many of us Game of Thrones blind people felt. I knew this one but have been blindsided before. Nothing is safe. With these big show...I don't count anything out. I'm jaded af now and am both happy and horrified about not being "spoiled."

Yeah man Abby walked Joel straight into the lion's den that was all kind of messed up it just made me think about the way Catherine was hunting down Henry I'm with you on that Adison I can't believe they took my boy out in the second episode

in the first 10 mins of the episode when Jesse (asian kid) & Ellie are walking to the town meeting to go talk to Maria (Tommy's wife) they talk about something really important! They discuss how one of the patrols went out and found a pile of 'dead infected' but they were tons of other infected underneath all hibernating and actually alive. But you were looking at that random guy pushing a barrel, and said "I wonder what's in those barrels?" hahahaha Adison you crack me up I was yelling at my screen "is he jus gonna ignore all that???"

this episode was definitely a rough one overall, a perfect reaction for such a heartbreaking end to this episode. Joel really was the GOAT, I miss him already
