HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

Man I'm on my way to go see Sinners and now hit me with the surprise late drop 😆

MorganxJKBias💖

Don't like the gov, but it’s a walking dead episode, so I gotta like it. Also, this is totally off-topic, but have y’all seen Hawaii Five-0? If not, I think that would be a good show for y’all to watch💖

Erica byrd

Shout out to The Detail Geek. I've watched him too

Fellerz

You refresh EDN page and see no new TWD reaction, you risk your life but that one moment before going to bed and you refresh the page one more time and see a new reaction video that's what's risking your life is for

Rockstar818

Deleted my last comment cause I just realized homie in the bathtub used the revolver not a shotty so my Kurt Cobain reference would have fell a bit short lol

Wolfy! Wolfi! Wolfé!

Robert Kirkman the original writer of the comic says in this storyline there are no zombie movies/stories so people don't know what to do. I'm with you Brandon. My grandfather smoked so much the food tasted awful due to the smoke. It's amazing my grandma didn't get lung cancer. We probably saw the same video with the nicotine and tar all up in the car ...so disgusting. I wish they made kids watch it in highschool

brandy.

Yeah in this universe there was no zombie movies or anything like that so it's basically a new and unknown concept to all people until they gain experience with the walkers

Queen S

Andrea number two she's fondling all over him yuck 🤢 I am not a fan of this episode I can care less what happened to the governor I just wanted to see you guys reactions to it❤️

Harmony

Yay! I can't believe it! Finally!!!

Rindamarie

I haven’t watched this episode since it aired. It bored me and no I don’t empathize with him. He’s lying to Lily, Tara and Megan.

Chris L

great reaction my dudes. btw Tara didn't know you had to shoot them in the head. she inflects her voice at the end so she was asking a question or looking for confirmation

xxtccyunno

just cleaned my crib finally sitting down fam . cheers

randvi

just got off work perfect timing! 😝🙌🏼

akaSuzyMae

That's right! Shu(m)pert and Martinez left his behind! That's the best part of this episode!🤣

xxtccyunno

also othrrs might have said but dude in the bathtub had no legs man . sad the kinda stuff u see out in the world like tht and reality

Isis Atlantis

I knew Brandon would like Tara initially.

james moore

Zombies dont exist in this world thats why they dont call them that. They're the Walking dead lol

Ginger Snaps

Zombies don’t exist babes in their universe.. they don’t have zombie movies, comic books, or tv shows or even books that mention Zombies!! That’s why they call them “walkers” or other names that aren’t “zombies” cause they just have no idea what that is.. unlike us.. zombies wouldn’t really stand a chance in our world lol!

Ginger Snaps

Ha “initially” don’t let the idiots in the comments read you say “initially” cause they call that a spoiler!!

Ash Lee Can

Arthur! You can't be giving negro cards to men with previous racist leanings! #NeverForget Lol...

Demon Rick

Daryl’s first appearance in the show is saying it’s gotta be the brain what the hell, but here Governor just rips throat for kill? always confused me😅

Ash Lee Can

The Walking Dead Universe is where Night if the Living Dead(1968) never existed. So the concept of a zombie isn't a thing. That's why you hear everyone called them everything BUT zombies(they did a couple of times in the comics, but I think that was more of a goof from the creator forgetting that they weren't supposed to be called zombies. They were actually mainly called "roamers" a lot. Different types of zombies had different names like lurkers, which are the ones who were more lazy/docile ones sitting in one place, until something comes across their attention like the one that got Herhsel's leg. Easy to kill, but also easier to sneak up on you). Of course there are cultures in like folklores where there is a concept of be some type of other like in Hatian Voodoo but the zombies are created, controlled, and used as slaves by bokors, or there's revenants which are from European folklore(France, I think). Even Hershel made a referenced to the Bible in season 2, "I can't profess to understand God's plan, but Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind." But zombies as it is engrained in our pop culture doesn't exist, so it's not a widespread known thing until it happened. So unlike us, who would have an idea on how to handle zombies because we have the awareness of the concept, the world was thrown in on the deep end of some shit forreal and had to learn through trial/error and just getting through life without movie & TV shows to reference from...

Ash Lee Can

They didn't know that you come back after you die. It was the incident happening that made Tara realize that you come back no matter what...

Ash Lee Can

What's crazy is in the comics, even though The Governor went by the name Philip, his real name WAS Brian. His younger brother's name was Philip and Penny was actually his brother's daughter. After his brother and niece died, he took on his brother's identity as his own persona as like to absolve him from his own personal insecurities he had in the past by becoming his more put together younger brother, going by Philip and was acting like his dead niece was really his daughter. Dude was an absolute madman...

Erikka_Reacts

Damn, I forgot this is how Tara was introduced

Nae

I’m glad you guys undated 😭‼️ I’ve been missing y’all reactions

Cwen W.

Wow, thats crazy

EliG

Michonne had told Darryl she was heading to that very town next in her search for the Gov.

Nae

The next episode is also a governor pov episode enjoy‼️

N7

Governors real name is actually Brian u just sometimes go by the name of Phillip cause that was his brothers name

N7

The walking dead universe has no comic no concept no shows no movies or anything of undead or zombies that’s why they don’t know what they are

Fellerz

In the show, he is Philip, and when he uses the name Brian with Tara and Lily, it is just a nod to the rise of the governor book. In the books, he starts off as Brian Blake, and then when his brother Philip dies, he takes his name.

Mikaevee

I believe that was only in the comics! The producers did change a lot of details from the comics

Tyler Renshaw

This is the most boring couple episodes of the show. Please get through them, I promise you it gets infinitely better lol

KaosDragon

Like someone already said, The Walking Dead Universe takes place in a time where the idea of "zombies" was never popularized or created. So they genuinely have no idea what a "zombie" is hence why every different group we've encountered so far has a different name for them, and a lot of people don't know to "go for the brain"

Mosellaaa

Fr litterally after this episode it’s up that’s why we need like three at a time fr🥹😭

courtney 🧚🏽‍♀️

yeah i knew they were trying to humanize him but didn’t work for me. we all saw his true colors and he is a sick and demented man idc he deserves everything bad that comes his way. he has hurt and killed way too many people to redeem himself.

courtney 🧚🏽‍♀️

i hated this episode. i hate the governor. i hate when shows try to humanize evil characters. he is a psychopath end of story. he cannot be redeemed or forgiven for everything he has done. plus the unthinkable disgusting things he planned on doing to michonne…yeah no he signed his ticket to hell a long time ago, ain’t no refunds or take backs. he’s “too far gone” iykyk. it was nice to see other groups and survivors and how they’ve been dealing with the apocalypse tho. and as others have stated in the walking dead universe there is no zombie lore (i.e. movies, tv shows, comics, etc.) so they had never heard of zombies or even knew that it was a thing. they never knew to shoot them in the head or how you can get infected (although this was the first zombie show to have the humans be infected already). but like you said brandon from process of elimination if you’re shooting a zombie and body shots do nothing you should try a headshot too not just give up.

Danielle Lee

This episode and the next are just on the governor bc it’s crucial in showing us how he found a new group of people , and it shows us how the trust was formed .

Cleo Griffith

Hey Adison and Brandon. We have met new people and the guvnor's wife kid and sister in law lol. I just don't get sleeping with a guy with others in the same tent cough Lori cough and now Lily with her sister and child. The place the guvnor and his men camped for the night was the same place he killed all the National Guards men, then took their truck and went back to destroy Woodsbury. And even tho I like the guvnor there is no redeeming him. It doesn't matter if he saved Megan's life. Also I would have never invited him into my house or left my kid with him. RIP to the Dad.

Sara Tucker

When I rewatch this show I always skip this episode and the next one lol.. it’s boring and I can’t stand the gov. Yall just gotta make it through these two and it’s up from there man

Chris L

Hmm. I don't know how common your opinion is, or mine, but I happen to love these two eps

Adam Beiter

In this world, the idea of zombies never existed. That's why no one calls them zombies.

gabby

I don’t know if y’all have seen malcom in the middle or that 70’s show but the Tara girl is the sister of Christopher Masterson (francis) and Danny Masterson (hyde)

Rah29

I think my man Brandon really likes saying Shupert 😂😂😂

Tyrademi

The Governor is a sick individual. Point blank period. He’s living in this loop where he mess sh*t up real bad, to then try again, just to f*ck up again. Stop bringing outsiders into your mess. That’s a set up and real messy too. 😂

Melinda

The perv that just got 30 years, when I looked up his real name I saw that he's related to a few famous faces I know!

Melinda

I do the same Sara can't stand him and I already know how it goes so I skip it because SAME!

KenthalasAT

Y'all can't get bitten by walkers, but maybe Adison can bite Brandon, just once? For us?

The Lazy Cajun

Zombies didn’t exist in this world. Only reference to mystical creatures (if I’m not mistaken) are aliens. But these episodes are crucial to the storyline and our people. Can’t wait until it all unfolds.

jasmin

hope you had a great time!lol i was just talking about it with my new neighbors today

Jess Here

I always thought that maybe the guy in the tub would be one of those who would have survived a self inflicted gunshot wound if he had medical intervention. When I was a kid my mom had a friend that shot himself in the head and survived. He had a big portion of his skull missing. Like a huge indentation. It really scared me as a kid because I knew he did it himself but also that he survived and still functioned.

gabby

yesss he’s disgusting but yeah that’s a fun fact i knew about the tara girl😭 the other brother is also in one of the parody scary movies lmao

Sabrina

Same. It was fun to watch them watch it but I never watch it on my own.

Sabrina

I hope they sit and watch the next two in a row at least, bc I know they prob gonna take a lil break after those.

jasmin

aw man i really wanna go again now-you pick up anything you aint catch the first time?

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

Yeap especially the beginning with Indians, and the guitarist story was inspired by blues player Robert Johnson. Watch his documentary when you get a chance it should be on Netflix or definitely on YouTube 👍🏾

Diary of a Dragon

I grew tired of waiting for these episodes in the regular ethers 😄

Rynn

People aren’t born evil, but they can become evil. Killing scores of innocent people, SA, and setting up a torture chamber including SA materials is evil. There’s no question. I barely even consider his motivations good in this episode. It’s still self-involved because she reminds him of his daughter. And he wants to absolve himself. Then hooks up in a tent next to this little girl, despite everything he’s put women through. You can’t do all those things without becoming evil.

Rynn

I mean, I figured she meant by the end of this episode those feelings are already wearing off for these guys. She seemed badass, only to realize it’s a front. Not that I blame her. She was repeating that stuff so this stranger wouldn’t think he could mess with them. IMO there was no need for her to apologize for that. She was keeping her family safe, then told the truth when he earned it.

Mosellaaa

Me too but I realized we gon be waiting even longer in here once you catch up 😭

Moxie

Can yall start fear the walking dead now? It takes place the same time asthe walking dead so yall won't be missing nothing

Yami Panto

after the trial stuff I can't look at her the same either, smh what a shame

ariel mermaid

Yess I hope they start fear the walking dead I’ll be so hype they get deeper into the walking dead lore especially now that they are playing the

Diary of a Dragon

Yoo, I love these two. Adison is too funny, "Come on Maggie's stunt double" I busted out with that one 🤣

Ashanti✨

Omgggg I watch The Detail Geek too!

everydaynegroes

lol hold on…what’s being requested of me? 😅 -Adison

* The title of the episode, "Live Bait", refers to Philip's actions throughout the episode: * He makes no effort to dodge the walker he passes by in the town and finally decides to lay down in the street to die. * He goes into the nursing home, which is infested with walkers. Some of these walkers are restrained, either by wheelchairs or strapped to tables, implying that they had been left behind either because they were bitten or as walker bait. * It may also refer to the words "Live Bait" seen on a road sign when Philip and the Chamblers are running from a group of walkers. * The original title for this episode was "Rise". * The episode's exact runtime is 00:42:59. * David Morrissey (The Governor/Philip) is reinstated in the opening sequence for the first time in Season 4 since being removed from the last five episodes. * This is the first episode where only one series regular appears. * This is the first episode mainly focused on an antagonist. * This also the first episode of the show to not feature any member of the Atlanta Camp. * Due to being series regulars, this is the first time in which Chad Coleman (Tyreese) and Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (Bob) are credited in an episode in which they do not appear. * There are a number of parallels between the Governor's journey in this episode and Rick's journey in S1EP1 "Days Gone Bye". * The episode begins with a scene showing the last moments of the men's lives before starting over. In Rick's case, this was the shootout before he went into a coma. In Philip's, the night following the fall of Woodbury * Following these scenes, both wake up alone to find that two people have abandoned them and must journey into the world. * Both men happen upon fellow survivors at the moment of exhaustion. * The first human contact for each protagonist after they set out on their journeys is a family holed up trying to survive the disaster. For Rick, this is Morgan and Duane. For Philip, this is Lily and her family * With both families, the respective protagonist bonded with a child of the family. * For both protagonists, helping the family kill a now-undead relative resulted in character development. In Rick's case, helping Morgan find the apparent courage to shoot his wife gave him the strength to go out and face death himself. In Philip's case, having to kill David, and the resulting fear Meghan had of him, caused him to burn his family photo and commit to the future. * Both Rick and Philip encounter a group containing someone from their past following a skirmish with the walkers and both reunions are complicated by events having occurred between their last meeting and now. In Rick's case, this complication was Lori's affair with Shane. In Philip's, it appears to be that Martinez has taken on a leadership role and no longer needs him. Both later kill the person due to leadership problems. * The song included in the episode is "The Last Pale Light in the West" by Ben Nichols * This is the first episode to be a complete flashback from current time similar to Issue 43, nicknamed the "flashback issue" * In an interview with David Morrissey, it was explained that the burning of the only photo that Philip has of his family means two things: * He folds the corner of the photograph and blocks himself out of it. And that is blotting himself from his past and seeing only the best of it, which was his wife and his child. * When he burns the photograph, it is a commitment to his future, to Lilly and Meghan. In order for him to look forward, he cannot have any connection to his life as the Governor. He cannot have anything from his past. He must commit fully to this new life. * In this episode, most of the material is adapted from the Novel Series: * Philip killing the zombified David Chambler is adapted from Rise of the Governor * David, Tara, and Lilly (named April in the novel) are characters from Rise of the Governor, but they have the last name "Chalmers". * Philip choosing the name Brian mirrors the end of the novel where Brian takes Philip's name. The Governor in the novel is named Brian Blake and is Philip's older brother. * Philip passes by a barn filled with scribbled messages left by survivors meant for loved ones and friends. The names mentioned on the barn include: Brian Heriot, Megan Cook, Chad Krear, Ken Jones, Molly Thore, Casey Brewer, Mollica, and Jim.

La Toya Sheri

Rewatching this and half tempted to skip these two bc cant stand the gov but don't wanna get to 8. So sad.
