Hank is not locked in when it comes to this case. He has extreme trauma and PTSD from what happened the last time he was in El paso. Not to mention, he felt like an outsider which was extremely uncomfortable. He didn't know anyone, everybody spoke Spanish except him, he was treated like a rookie again. He is using the Heisenberg case as a way of escapism. He is afraid to go back to El Paso, and he's embarrassed that he's afraid. He doesn't know how to handle what he's going through, which is why he lashes out at the people who care about him. Yes, the case means a lot to him, but he's using it as an excuse at this point. When he was in his boss's office, when he was asked if he was going to El Paso tonight, he said the most real thing he has said in a long time. "No, I can't." Then put his walls back up to say, at least not yet.

Exactly. Skylar handed him divorce papers, he refused and then like she said he "dared her to call the police," she understood exactly what Walt was doing; he knew she wouldn't tell on him because that would destroy their lives publicly. He played dirty on her, so she did it right back and told him outright "we are not married, you're not my husband," now they both got to act like everything cool, see walt was chill before she went to ted now he bitter and miserable openly, that's what he get. I don't know why anyone acts like she cheated, unless you simply don't respect women when they tell you it's over. And if that's the case, don't be mad when they step out on you. You asked for it.

Walt started cooking to help his family she cheated to hurt him. Im not excusing eithers actions but pretending like she is some innocent by standard is dumb. Regardless of what he admits in the finally. He started all this to make sure his family was good she cheated and helped ted launder money only to act holier than thou about Walt’s crime

Walt didn’t start cooking meth to help his family. He started it for his ego. You can't ignore that. The one selfless thing Walt did for his family was choosing to get treatment. It was something he didn’t want, but he chose it for his family’s sake despite his pride. However, he did not choose his family over pride when it came to taking Elliot and Gretchen’s help. We were clearly shown that Walt had a legal and safe way of getting his treatment fully covered and a much higher paying job with probable opportunities for advancement, yet he chose to do something as reckless and dangerous as meth dealing just so he could say he provided on his own merits. Ted Beneke was not shown to have any options; Walt was. Pretending they are the same is ridiculous. Whether you like it or not, people can commit the same crime for different reasons and some will naturally inspire more empathy than others. Your friend can commit theft to get medicine for their dying loved one because they couldn’t afford it any other way. Your husband can do it to sell drugs on the black market despite having been offered a higher paying, good job at a company with benefits. You tell me who you would be more empathetic to and who you'd be more willing to cover for. Also, arguing that she cheated is very slippery. To cheat on someone, you have to be in a consensual relationship. Skylar had already more than given Walt proof of her decision to leave him. Instead of honoring it, he chose not only to invade her space and ignore her giving him an out for his illegal activity, but also to play games and dare her to call the cops, knowing she wouldn’t detonate her family publicly and hurt their kids. So yes, she just privately hurt him instead, to push him to do what she had asked him for months. He played games, called her bluff, and forced his way back into her life. Don’t you think that hurt her? Angered her? Disrespected her? Wasn’t it coercive and abusive to lock someone in a relationship they no longer consent to? Walt played underhanded, making her look unreasonable, so she struck back at him in a way that hurt his ego. Then she blatantly said (again) that their marriage is over again and that he is not her husband. He didn’t respect her autonomy when she tried to leave clean, so she played his game. He doesn’t get to be mad now. Now they will both just have to be miserable.

Both can be true. No one is arguing that Walt’s ego isn’t his biggest problem and yeah he could of taken multiple offers for help but he didn’t cook to hurt his family she cheated to hurt Walt then started helping ted cook his books. And acted holier than thou calling Walt a criminal like her crimes were just and reasonable but with that being said I don’t think there are any “innocent” people other than like Walt’s daughter and Walter jr. but i do love discussing these points with fellow fans, love to hear your rebuttal. Apologies if this comes across sarcastic I’m genuinely interested in your thoughts on the issue
