I know that it seems silly, but you have to remember that the bat is a symbol for his wife. He's held on to it for a long time so It's almost as if losing that one thing is him losing his last real connection to his wife. That's how he sees it and feels about it. Not really any different than someone holding on to a loved ones ring, collectibles, etc.

Guys try to be more open minded. Rick is not the leader of the world. There are 4 different communities with their own leaders (YES MAGGIE is the leader of hilltop, NOT Rick) so he can’t make a decision like that alone when literally all of those communities were ravaged by the saviors. The truth hurts but it’s 1000x more accurate to refer to Rick and Michonne as snakes. The group, Rick and Maggie especially, spent nearly all of the past two seasons on the same page about wanting to kill Negan. And when Rick was too scared and weak to go up against Negan, it was Maggie who was strengthening Hilltop and preparing them all for war. And then you have Rick telling Maggie in the first episode of season 8 that when this is all over, “I’m gonna be the one following you” or something like that. Just for him to do the exact opposite, go against everyone’s wishes against yours and Michonne’s PURELY because of Carl. 😒 Adison’s tripping ngl. Getting pissed at Daryl going behind Rick’s back when Rick literally did the same thing to Daryl, Maggie and everyone else by deciding that they’re sparing Negan is crazy.

He was one of three leaders, including Maggie and Ezekiel. The world and this show does not revolve around Rick… Also, keep in mind that Rick spent the first half of season 7 submitting to Negan and not wanting to fight at all, while all that time Maggie was preparing and strengthening both her and the Hilltop to be ready to fight. Hilltop/Kingdom came to Rick’s rescue at the end of season 7 and Hilltop was the final stand out of all the communities in the war. Give credit where it’s due.

That literally doesn't change anything; I never once liked or rooted for Negan's character in the history of the show. So even knowing "damn well what is going to happen" it doesn't negate my argument at all. I'm honestly confused why you think it would? I don't hate Rick, he's in my top five characters. It's not about purely hating a character...what a simple, one-dimensional mindset. It's about rightfully criticizing a character's decisions when they go against the interests or desires of the collective group....And wtf are you talking about Rick stepping up and not Maggie or Daryl? I literally explained how Rick did nothing the first half of season 7 while Maggie prepared them all for war?? Nah, don’t be making excuses for Rick. He’s been overwhelmed with grief and not open to anyone else’s ideas in honor of Carl, but has totally neglected the ones WHO LIVE on. I can see why Maggie & Daryl feel that way and why Rick thinks that way and they’re both selfish, but Maggie’s grief makes sense.

I listened to what Daryl & Maggie had to say. I considered it and I don’t agree. Wrong is wrong. You act like I also haven’t been critical of the decisions Rick has made multiple times as well. I can like some of these characters all day long but don’t expect me to turn a blind eye when I see them up to some problematic things. Especially when it will affect everyone. -Adison

Rick was wrong simple!! But I feel he made that decision in the moment. The whole point of all those people dying was for nigan to die. Morgan went crazy, carol had to become our Cookie Monster again, Daryl was tortured, hill top lost almost everybody, we lost our tiger, and so on. I don’t know why you want negan alive Addison. I’ve finished the show but at this point there’s no way you can want him alive.

Rick’s moment with Eugene and his moment with Carol is underrated. We never really saw Rick and Eugene talk a whole lot. And we’ve seen him and Carol hard disagree in the past so much so he cast her away and to see that here even if they did disagree they could still see reason, now Daryl… lol. Not one of my favorite Daryl moments honestly. Rick always had to make the hard decisions and Daryl went about things shiesty regardless.

I love Rick but for anyone to deny Carl's death is blinding him is insane. The fact his ideology is that if Negan dies, Carl died for nothing is absurd and I really blame the show runners for this mess because Carl's death created something so ridiculous and he should still be here. Maggie is wrong in the same way Rick was, as Paul was saying because it's not just up to her. I think Ezekiel/Maggie/Syndey/Rick should've came together on the decision but they all accepted Rick's choice, until they realized they didn't have to which is understandable. See this is the thing. I 100% would feel terrible, hurt, angry, etc. Where I disagree is that there wasn’t a “point”. There was a clear point, just not one that I or most people agree with. You can’t go around offing people and then cry unfair when they decide to retaliate. I think Negan is dead wrong and I think Rick & Co were wrong for some things they did. But if we continue to seek revenge after revenge then we will be at odds forever! I hate what happen to Glenn and Abraham. It makes me sick to my stomach. But how many people on BOTH sides are you willing to let die because of what happen to Glenn and Abraham? Sorry but Rick is the real snake. He made promises to Hilltop and Alexandria about vengeance and freedom, stole Oceanside's guns and promised Savior eradication, then when it came time to fufill his promise he changed his mind because his dead son asked him to. He decided to put Carl and his memory above everyone else living AND dead. And the kicker is we KNOW he's being a hypocrite because if roles were reversed, if HIS family was actually killed by Negan, Negan and every Savior would've been dead and the same people he's currently snaking would be standing by him. We've seen this with the guy who let the Walkers into the prison (when Lori was alive), with the Governor, with the guy who tried to SA Carl, with the cannibals wanting to eat little Judy. Yet, because for once the bad guy wasn't a threat to his children, because for once the bad guy was actually fond of his children (in a non-creepy way) all of sudden the bad guy is worthy of keeping alive even though he's killed SO MANY other people's loved ones. Straight hypocritical, snake behavior. Seriously, where is the loyalty to the people who always had his back when HE was the one suffering?

I definitely get where you coming from but I also feel it’s easier to stand on that point of view coming from someone who wasn’t the wife. It’s gone always be easier to say let’s do the right thing and not continue on this revenge path when the pain not hitting as hard as it is for the person it happened to. I feel Maggie deserves some sort of grace cause it’s just impossible to control how someone else will grieve especially in the way she lost the person, it wasn’t an accident it was intentional.

YESSS don’t worry guys ya are not in the wrong for the views on the Rick/Michonne vs Daryl/Maggie mess. Rick/Michonne are looking big picture very future oriented (even Maggie herself admits his way is better for the future) while her and Daryl are more stuck in the past, while I understand their frustrations (even Rick admits he struggles with the decision too) but yes it was very upsetting to see them be underhanded with the situation. But what was even more upsetting was Daryl telling Rick to let go of Carl yet doesn’t feel the same regarding Maggie and Glenn, especially since Rick has never downplayed negans crimes by forgiving him he just locked him up FOR LIFE letting him rot so to say that irked me. & tbh like Brandon said if it was such an issue and been that shoulda shot him when Rick said save him & said sorry brother no. But being so sneaky I didn’t like it because like ya mentioned all it did was cause all the issues in these episodes (bridge not getting built, the herd coming, etc.) Also I definitely think killing him makes him a martyr (the graffiti) so personally I feel Rick was right & again like ya said if they disagreed so strongly call a meeting with everyone so they can all state their opinions since so many have these thoughts (& handle it accordingly like ya said) but this? Felt like a huge betrayal.

I'm with the Sis calling from New Orleans, I'm not a Negan fan and never will be a Negan fan. Man when this episode 1st aired I think I cried that whole week. And also Maggie and Rick are not the only ones who have lost their entire family. Michonne Daryl Carol Sasha and Morgan have lost everyone in their family, but they found each other and made new families. I did not like Negan trying to connect with Michonne because they're not the same Negan kills for shits and giggles Michonne kills for survival. Another great discussion and debate, now on to E5.

No during Rick told Michonne he didn’t know if Judith was actually his or Shane’s baby, he said it didn’t matter because he loves Judith.Now do you remember Lori telling Shane in season to that even if the Baby was his, it would still be Rick’s Baby, so Rick didn’t care, he even told Shane in season 2 that Carl was his son, Lori was his wife, and the Baby was his too!!! You’re 10000% wrong lmao. Rick quite literally said “I know Judith isn’t mine. I know it. She’s my daughter, I love her *hard sigh* but she isn’t mine.” Go back and watch that scene again from Season 7 Episode 4 and listen for yourself. Also Glenn would’ve still been in the line up even if he did take a separate car. The saviors had every single possible route blocked going to hilltop.

It's really funny to me that "it wasn't Rick's decision to make about Negan", but nobody even really believed they could fight the man and win before he pushed Rick so hard he fell and Rhane got back up. Maggie and Paul both annoy me. Maggie because she's channeling her guilt for her part in Glen's death instead of just dealing with it. Paul because I feel it was out of place for him to judge Rick and echo Maggie's 'beef' when truth be told, he has a part in Glen and Abe dying as well.

no no no please stop, Judith is not biologically Rick's since she was conceived during her stint with Shane, Rick himself confirmed it earlier along the lines "I know Judith isn't mine, she is my daughter". In the comics it was hinted quite a few times at the prison until her death of course (Eaten alive under her mother (lori) who was shot by walkers).

Rick was selfish in this case though: He did this simply because he wants fulfil Carl's last wish despite the fact that he promised Negan's death to all who aided him in the war, especially the main group who had suffered at the hands of Negan. Had he killed Negan though it would have set the precedent that killing is the only way to get Justice which is what Carl wanted to stop since Rick was losing pieces of himself with each kill. This decision left those who wanted "Justice" for their Fallen unsatisfied which is why their cracks in the leadership and cooperation.

What's clear to me, Daryl feels responsible for Glenn's death and feels he has to do anything and everything to to "right that wrong" for Maggie, baby Hershel ( who will never know his father because of Daryl's actions) and last but not least Glenn himself. Had it been Carl and not Glenn killed as a result of his actions he'd be doing the same for Rick. I think he'd be worse if it were Carl. He's bond with Rick is way stronger than Maggie and he has watched Carl grow up . Daryl is far from selfish, quite the opposite actually.

It’s cause Adison be lookin at it from a somewhat Rick prospective and big picture…I usually side wit Brandon cause he more black and white about how he would go about things and I’m similar if not the same way..But the truth of what should be done sometimes is difficult and harsh and Adison looks at it from the difficult place..which makes it so trill because the discussion of what is right and wrong gets real deep..

Didn't aka "Paul" make a call to bring saviors to the Hilltop as prisoners. That was not in the plan that Rick, Ezekiel, or Maggie made. So if he called an audible Rick most definitely had the right to change the plan in mid-execute. For the record I don't think it was the wrong call. The some of the saviors were going against the new way even with Negan still alive. If Rick had killed Negan on the spot they would have been way worst IMO.

Some of these comments are unhinged and rather rude. This is a fictional TV show so it's not that serious. No one is 100% wrong but I do side with Rick on the Negan call but I can see his flaws too. In the heat of battle Rick changed his mind which is fine and those that disagree have a right to do so. The final battle with Negan was maybe 3 to 5 days after Carl's death. So, Rick was still grieving. Again, I don't think Rick knew he was going to change his mind about take Negan all the way out until that moment. If they disagreed than like Darryl shot that savior after Rick gave his word he could go Maggie or anyone else could have taken their shot on the spot. But to actively work behind each other's back when you're suppose to be a family is wrong. No one gets their way all the time. Someone is always going to feel cheated whether it be by a little or a lot. I will say Darryl is the one that told Gregory that they would take out the saviors because just like Rick he had an inflated ego about what they could do and what they could handle. Maggie is the one that ironed out the deal with Gregory after Darryl's declaration and with Rick's approval. No matter what the Saviors were going to get them back for taking out the outpost group even if they were out here doing all kinds of heinous things. And Judith is definitely Shane's bio daughter. The conversation between Rick and Michonne confirmed that he knew that himself.

New here but feel it's needed to remember what Negan did to everyone and Maggie and Daryl. He enslaved people, coerced women to be his wives, tortured his own people and laughed during it. He laughed while he brutalised Glenn and made jokes about making maggie hsi wife. He stripped daryl NAKED and locked him in a cell where he only ate dog food and gave him photos of Glenn's corpse...Daryl was tormented by him for days and he again..laughed during it He's an evil man and now Rick and michonne tried to do something good but they tried to get all of his victims to help support the people who did his dirty work. The people who hurt them, and enslaved them...it was never going to work. If it wasnt maggie and Daryl it would've been one of the other HUNDREDS of victims negan had in all the communities. Negans fate shouldve been a decision by EVERY ONE. Not Rick and Michonne alone. They weren't his only victims. Carl's dying wish is irrelevant to every one who suffered under negans boot. Rick and Michonne made a choice for everyone negan hurt without even asking them and then asked them all to contribute to keeping his people alive..they tried but that was not their call to make at all. It was everyone's. Maggie. Daryl. Hilltop. Alexandria. Rosita. Tara. Oceanside. Negans wives, his slaves which was most of his people most of them didnt want to be there, the people he burned the faces of off... they all shouldve had a say in the fate of Negan. Rick took that away from them. Why did all the saviours they did kill deserve to die but negan, the head man didn't? Why does he get to live but his people didn't? You can kill Negan and still unite the remaining saviours. Anyone who doesn't want to work with you BECAUSE you killed negan obviously isn't a person worthy of helping anyways.

I never liked Eugene after he went to the Saviors. He was one of our people and regardless of what he ended up doing, he betrayed a trust. That's hard to get back in the real world, you're only getting one chance during the zombie apocalypse.

Daryl and Rick will fight like brothers 😂 Daryl would never do anything like kill Rick lol. Rick IS his brother. I grew up with 2 older brothers that traumatized me (they’re 7 & 5 years older than me) from all the times I was left home alone with just them two. My dad was/is a truck driver and back then and he was driving out of state. & so I’d be left at home w/ my brother that’s 7 years older than me and born with whatever makes you have more adrenaline that what your supposed to so he would get angry very quickly and later on he had to be put on heart medicine and it calmed him down. & then my brother that’s 5 years older than me just had a regular anger problem. They would fight like they wasn’t brothers. Like it would get scary. I can remember like it was yesterday when they fought and my oldest brother was on top of my other brother choking him & the one getting chocked said “do it you won’t fucking do it” & my oldest brother started squeezing harder. I started crying and i guess that’s what made them stop. That was seriously no joke, traumatizing. My oldest brother was never out of the way towards me tho he was very over protective w/ me and never mean to me. I hated seeing that side of him. So Daryl & ricks brotherly fights are fine to me lol. Idk why I felt like sharing that, sorry lol.

The entire skull is made up of different bones that fuse together at weak points a wooden baseball bet that’s all right, but an aluminum one that will shatter a skull like a shotgun blast if slammed onto the top of the head separates every piece of the skull and smashes through if you want to go to Apocalypse weapon get an aluminum bat wrap that in some Barbwire and you got an ultimate Lucille that is likely to not break for a while and is actually more lightweight than your traditional wooden bat

I Understood Maggie frustration but look how it turns out for Negan at this point in the story. he was torture mentally and wanted to die to be with his wife and that crueler than just killing him and I think Maggie realize that.

Let's not ALL forget that Glenn would still be alive had Daryl not acted out of rage and emotion. Daryl has Maggie's back because he's responsible for his death. Negan physically ended Glenn but Daryl killed him. . It's not like Rick's got Negan set up at the Ritz Carlton. What they've done to him is worse than death to someone like Negan. It's not like Carl died and Rick changed his mission. Not even close. It took him a while to come around to that. I believe up to the very moment he cut his throat. Rick has no love for him. If they took that vote, I bet it doesn't go in favor of killing him. Now, Daryl getting emotional and it gets Rick killed. Rick would've never been on that horse and the horse never throws him off. Those same over impulsive emotions that ended up with Carl bitten.
