Rick's departure from this show was revealed for us before this season aired. It's wierd having it be in episode 5 of all things because what else could possibly happen this season or even the remainder of the show that's as huge as THE main character leaving. Don't watch any spinoffs until you finish the main show. Also we need more fear reactions please.

Andrew Lincoln wanted to leave the show just because he's from the UK and hadn't been able to see his family for a long while, since AMC's studios are located down in Georgia. I think it's an absolutely amazing send off, and it was great seeing all these characters again.

It kinda sucked because when Season 9 was released, epsiode number 5 was announced as Rick's departure from the show so we kind of anticipated it, unfortunately. He left the show originally because he wanted to be with his actual family and spend time with his kids who were growing up. He was never supposed to be written out like that. I mean, Carl technically wasnt supposed to be written off either so I guess no one was safe lol. Also, from the bridge scene to Judith being revealed it was a 6 year time jump. I believe it explains that in the next episode. The 'A' and 'B' will be revealed and be a bit more clearer when you watch the 'The Walking Dead : The Ones Who Live.' Dont want to spoil it to much, its actually a really good detailed storyline. I know alot of people were 50/50 with it, but I honestly loved it.

They had it planned since before they wrote season 8. Season 8 was supposed to be his last appearance but Lincoln felt it was too much for fans to lose Carl and Rick back to back so he asked to push it a bit further. I believe he was either supposed to die or be picked up by the helicopter at the tree in the finale of Season 8.

Dang, Adison 8 years old earliest memory??? I remember my brother being brought home from the hospital after he was born (I'm about 2 years older) and my father coming home after Vietnam. This is where I officially tapped out of TWD. I think I watched half of another episode of season 9 while it was airing. This was a well-done episode! At some point, they announced TWD movies with Andrew. But when The Ones Who Lived was announced, I went back and watched the rest of TWD. It was half-hearted viewing, like watching a Law & Order marathon while doing house chores! I don't think this is a spoiler, but it was well known before the start of Season 9 that Andrew Lincoln was leaving the series. His wife and kids were living in the UK, and he felt he was missing out on his kids' lives. He even said he spent more time with Chandler Riggs playing a father than being a father. So when this aired, we knew Rick was gone for at least the rest of the season.

Just saying there’s a difference between personally siding with Rick/Michonne and completely refusing to understand where Maggie’s coming from at all. I’m saying it’s ignorant cause you even blame Daryl and Maggie for what happens to Rick when they had nothing to do with it. 😭 It was the saviors’ gunfire at the camp that caused those herds to go in their direction. If you’re worried about compromising one’s soul to “win” (which is a really basic word for it) in an apocalyptic world then okay fine. I’d just think it’s kind of contradictory to be an advocate for Negan’s life like this but still think the only solution for bad guys like Jed is to kill him. And it’s crazy IMO to compare all the bad actions and intent behind them of Rick, Maggie, Daryl, etc to Negan’s sick, enslaver ass.

Is Brandon a capricorn? My earliest memory is two, so Judith should remember some things, especially because she has lived a very eventful life in a brief time. Jadis did lie about Rick being a B, yes. Also, I cried when Herschel appeared. Sasha was a great choice considering who they could get to return. Because Sasha was Ricks road dawg from jump. She was on it.

Once people decide they’re gonna side with Rick over Maggie they just stop seeing reason because she’s not as high on the fan favorite list I guess. She said she wanted the saviors to start giving her something in return for all of the supplies she was giving them and he almost flipped out of his chair as if she stabbed Rick in the chest 😂

he was trying to find his family (lori and carl) if he would have found them in his dream he wouldve accepted death with them and died but sasha came up and told him his family was never lost (michonne daryl etc) so in the end when everyone appeared and he goes “i found them” he was talking about michonne and them. he realized his family was his found family still alive and not the ones dead

I didn't think we'd get this until next week! 🥰 Btw, did you guys notice all the S1 callbacks? From the beginning, Rick in the hospital bed, Morgan's voiceover "what is your wound?" Those were the words he first said to Rick when they met. Rick riding on a white horse with a hoard of walkers just like the first episode, trying to find his family. Then we get flashbacks and Shane with Lori voiceover (what is your wound?) the wound of losing Shane and the conflict with him and Lori. Then Hershel's appearance with Beth's voiceover (what is your wound), losing Hershel and Beth, feeling like he failed his loved ones and wanting to honor them and all they taught him. To Rick arriving at the bridge and blowing it up to protect his found family. It was such a well done episode. Very glad even though you didn't turn off subtitles, that these didn't reveal anything (in some of the subtitles, it actually spoils it and says Judith is speaking after the gun shots to save that new group so I feared y'all were about to get a spoiler for the surprise. Luckily you didn't. And others might have said it but Carl and Lori appearing would've just made Rick give up there because he was hallucinating back when he was trying to find them, and if he found them, he would pass. So its like Rick subconsciously chose people to keep him going.

Your experience is obviously gonna be different but when this ep came out, it was marketed as Rick Grimes’ last episode and we all thought he was 100% dead. Andrew Lincoln wanted to leave the show in season 8 but stayed to complete the All Out War arc. This ep has to be one of my absolute favourites but the impact is weakened since we know about the spinoffs.

Again, masterpiece of a season and this episode is one of the all time greats. When this aired and even leading up to it, we were told that Andrew Lincoln was going to be done with the show and since it was so public, they advertised this as the final episodes of Rick. So we were basically watching knowing that it was over for Rick during this episode because we knew or thought they’d be no other way to write his character off. He’d never just wake up and willingly leave Michonne and Judith behind. The Convos he had with a lot of the characters felt like closure and so we all came to terms with the fact we’d be losing Rick this episode. Shocked when they didn’t and anyone that knew about the spinoffs beforehand the impact of this episode isn’t going to be as felt like it was for those of us that watched in real time. Rest of the season is S tier stuff.

Now you can start on “the world beyond”, you need this show for the information that’s needed in the towl spin off, this show gets some hate from fans, the first season is slow but it’s doing a lot of world & training building, the second season is much better & the final 3 episodes are very good, the world beyond does not spoil anything in ftwd, in fact it’s helped me understand some of the ftwd season 4 & 5 episodes. Do Not start towl until you’re done with season 10 episode 13 of the main show & the world beyond. Even if you don’t record twb reactions you’ll at least need to watch it in your spare time. Im so looking forward to the next episode.

Nah don't blame them for Rick being in that situation. Rick is in that situation because HE put himself there. Instead of giving his people the justice they asked for he tried to stop it. Instead of hoping on that bike with Darryl when the herd started closing in, he chose to get on that horse. And even before that, why is that herd there? Because he trusted the Saviors and then decided to be petty and not set off the charges that was suppose to lead them away from the camp. All of Rick's "wise" decisions coming to roost.

I don't think it was Daryl's fault that Rick almost died, Daryl wanted him to come with him but he wanted to lead the horde away, and was too determined to not damage the bridge at the risk of his own welfare, Daryl definitely played a part, but I don't think it was right that Rick made the decision about Negan for Maggie, yes, when he cut his throat they didn't let him die but that wasn't Maggie's choice. She didn't want her save him. They held her back and wouldn't let her do anything

First of all clown the Ones Who Lives is not considered a spin off because the actual show emerges to the Ones Who Lives, and ends with Rick and Michonne going home to be with their kids in the regular show, so the Ones Who Lives is apart of the regular show. That was supposed to be a 2 three hour theatrical film!! So it’s not a spin off!!!! I can’t stand fair weather fans!!!

Maggie literally DID try to intervene. Michonne was literally holding Maggie back when she tried to kill Negan after Rick said, "Save Him". He never even discussed it with Maggie after telling her in the season 8 premiere promising that he was going to kill Negan, and that he was gonna follow her lead. Rick & Michonne TOOK Maggie's justice away from her. I love Michonne. I'm like her biggest fan, but holding Maggie back in that moment in the field was wrong. And Maggie is absolutely right. If that was Rick or Michonne they would be feeling a whole lot different. In fsct, this wouldn't even have been a conversation(Carl would have probably offed Negan the moment he pulled up to the gates for the first time in 7x04 if he killed either of them). It's easy to be dismissive when it didn't happen to you...

The show. There IS a time jump in the comics after . So they're still, but like usually, they're remixing certain storylines with other characters, while also creating completely new storyline. It's just this time Rick & Carl aren't in the picture(which is a shame, especially for Carl's character with slick back hair and a one lense shade glasses), and we have Judith instead(who would have died when they escaped the prison back in season 4, along with Lori, if they had followed the comics, so Judith getting aged up as the Grimes kid is interesting)...

This post is only for a select few, if you did not watch TWD from season 1-11 on your own when it was actually airing every Sunday on AMC, but only watched it on Netflix or on a reaction PODCAST, you will not get the experience, of the show during the COVID they could only film half the seasons, and we had to wait for the second part of the same season air on AMC, a year and a half later!!! You also have not experienced the show runners, on strike with writers, therefore walking dead season 10 and 11 were late to premiere!!!! If you have not read any of the comics books what so ever, don’t reply to my post or any other post making up false narratives, just to glorify an opinion that’s not real, because if you read the comics books of the walking dead, you would know that, Lori died in the prison, while hold Judith as a baby, second, Michonne gets brutally tortured by the governor, Maryl and Daryl are not even in the Comic books at all. Rick and Andrea are together, and nothing is said about Shane being Judith’s real father, that fake narrative came from the host of the show that came on after the walking Dead!! Called Talking Dead. If you have not attended any of the San Diego Comic Cons and never attended any of the walking dead panels , and Heard from all the show runners, and cast members, clarify that all of the spinoff, consist of, Fear the Walking Dead, Walking Dead the World beyond, Dead City, and Daryl Dixon. Not Tells of the Walking Dead, Submarine of the Dead, which was going to be a spinoff, but show runners didn’t like it!!! You would have Heard Scott Gimple explain the reason why, The Ones Who Lives is not a spinoff, but an alternate ending of the actual walking dead series, because it started out as being a Theatrical Movie that’s apart of the actual series, which was called TWD Rick and Michonne, the same way they did the X-files. Scott Gimple asked Danai Garurria, who plays Michonne to write episodes 4,5 , and 6, she was the person that changed the title and made it The Ones Who Lives!!!Scott Gimple said July 28 2025 at San Diego Comic Cons, Due to the TWD’s Alternate ending of the Ones Who Live, may be the opening for season 12 of TWD!!!! In July 2017 Andrew Lincoln, made the statement” you will only see me on season 9 episode 1-5 because I am to disappear, but my character is definitely alive but nobody knows what actually happened to my character Rick Grimes, This will also allow me to pick up other projects. It’s only 20 episodes & they could always take an even shorter way to watch it with other reactors reacting to it, they would still get those cool tidbits in the least amount of time or we can delightfully filled edn in on the tidbits as they watch towl, now I’m not really sure now which would be better, we tell them the tidbits or they know themselves 😂🤣

I was going to stop watching after this episode but I said nope Michonne my girl is still here, so I stuck it out for her. Andy wanted to leave the show before at this point but he stayed and I think after they killed Chandler/Carl off he made up his mind to leave because it was like they had killed his son. This episode always makes me cry. Seeing Michonne fall apart like she did always gets me. Now we have a 6 years time jumped so let's see what that time and in between have in store for us.
