Okay, so I am a person whom has read like 2 of the books. EVEN STILL, it always bothers the heck out of me that Sansa didn't accept the Hound's offer. Every rewatch, I get upset all over again, because she literally has been shown time and again that them folks will do everything but kill her as long as Jaime is known to be her brother's prisoner... There was no reason to stay, can't even excuse it with fear because the poor girl has learned the steps to that delicate dance already and says what she's gotta to keep from being physically hurt. Hound shouldn't have been able to finish his offer before she grabbed a cloak and was on her way out the door...

I'd almost accept that except she's been beaten, left for dead and nearly SAed, her sister is missing, and she's seen her father's head on a spike... And at this point because she's 'playing the game' she knows that she's either gonna be Joffery's wife or they're gonna continue tormenting her just short of death until they decide they don't need her and kill her all together... She eats and sleeps under constant fear and stress of her uncertainty in their care, so it's really not making sense why she wouldn't take the chance and go with the Hound... There literally is no good reason why after all I've listed she wouldn't be willing to go ahead and seize the moment and go...I blame the writers... They stunted her character in favor of giving others more development imo and it shows the more you rewatch.

Okay, so firstly when did I say I hate her? Secondly I blamed the writers, not the 13 year old character. And lastly I'm tired of self righteous people getting in a tizzy over opinions that differ from theirs when we're all paying money for the right to share our opinions... Relax, it's a fictional show with a fictional character. What I said was considering what all she's been through so far writing wise there's no good reason for her not to accept the offer the Hound made. I said what I said. I said nothing about still holding her spewing the company line about being Joffery's wife being wrong, I'm not dumb and I even said she was doing what she had to do to stay okay. Again, I blamed the writers and believe at this point in the show they purposely stunted her character growth in favor for other characters and their development... Please read all my comments and don't just dubb me as those 'adults judging a fictional 13 year old' you're going on about without reading what all I actually said.

i really barely remember it but i feel like one factor was sansa feeling like she had more of a handle on her situation than she first did i feel like i remember her thinking she was getting better at lying/playing the game and so the known felt like a safer bet

I find it so interesting that people think Sansa was being scared and that drove her actions. Mind you, she literally overheard multiple times that Stannis was winning and about to take the throne. The Hound, one of the fiercest fighters she knows had fled the battle. Cersei left and was going to kill her kids rather than be taken alive. Everything was pointing toward a Stannis victory. Sansa stayed because she was holding faith in the inevitable. Nobody could have predicted Tywin would ride in and ruin all. Stannis would have little reason to hurt Sansa, she's right. Meanwhile, the Hound was drunk and she didn't really trust him for good reason. She has no reason to believe he saved her that day for anything except the king. He's cruel and loves killing. You'd rather this child rush off into danger in the middle of a battle to flee with a drunken, deserting knight with a penchant for killing little kids, than stay where she'd be assuredly safe. And if you read the books, it's even more obvious why she stayed. This grown 30 year old man is damn near blackout drunk lying in a 12 year olds bed in the dark. Climbs on top of her stinking of wine and blood and holds a sword to her throat, forcing her to sing for him. And people expect her to leave with him. Insane.

This is a lot of responses to read thru, so sorry if it was already mentioned in them, but I think what most people don’t consider is that Sansa stays because she’s following what the one person she trusts - Shay - told her. The last thing Shay instructed her to do was go to her room, lock the door, and wait for Stannis, because at that point they thought it was a for sure that Stannis was going to take the city,. It is well known that Stannis held Ned in high regard, plus he would honor Ned’s loyalty to him when he declared Stannis the true king. Also, it’s well understood that Sansa is a valuable asset - but ONLY to the powerful. To lesser citizens, she’s just another young girl, which means she’s much more vulnerable to regular people than she is nobility. Shay understands this, which is why she knows she will be safest with Stannis. Sansa likely understands all of this on some level as well. When the Hound makes his offer, I think you can see her considering it, particularly when she says, “you won’t hurt me.” But in the end, she doesn’t really know the Hound, nor if she can trust him, but she knows and trusts Shay, which is why it makes more sense that she would stay with what she instructed her to do. Also one other thing - she is still a 14 year old girl. I don’t think I would’ve felt brave enough to go running off with a big scary self-admitted killer when I was 14 either 😂

I also wish Adison would go back to pausing more when the guys are talking. He got better about it there for a bit but he fell off recently. Our sweet summer children are so invested in the show, I just want them to hear the things that help character development and build the story, because I know they appreciate them. For instance, everyone was talking over when Cersei told the story of praying after her mother died and Tywin punishing her for it. I just love seeing them pick up on the small but important elements and hate when they miss out.
