i’ve always had sympathy for daniel. i feel like people forget he was FORCED to be a child soldier. he didn’t want to become a killer. once he met his wife he felt like he could have a normal life (or at least try) because he was “worthy” of her loving him. she knew who he was and what he’d done and she still loved him. then he had ophelia. they were his redemption. without them he’s lost his compass and reason to be “good” or not turn back to his traumatic childhood and have to face what he’s done. but i don’t think he’s an evil man. he’s only killed people who were a threat or hurting him/his family (post apocalypse). he feels guilt and remorse. he could’ve turned cold especially with how things are but he didn’t and i think that matters.

another good one. the storytelling is actually decent for the 1st couple of seasons... Daniel was the one that you definitely did not want to run up on.

Daniel was asking him for forgiveness since it was suggested that he may have been a priest. In Catholicism we confess our sins to priests and they grant absolution on behalf of the lord. Thought it was so cool that he finally got the saving he needed when he finally just went directly to the source. There are so many interesting religious elements in TWD series and spin offs.
