Kareemah

You are wrong for this. I was busy today and missed the drop of Twister so I am just starting it. I am going to be up all night. It's 2:14 am for me

Nate G

Why all these martial arts movies?

Davey Jones

This is a good movie, thanks for the drop!

Shawn87

Hopefully y’all watch Iron Monkey! It also stars the legend Chow Yun Fat and it stars Donnie Yen aka Ip man lol. It’s some of the greatest fighting choreography y’all have seen so far. Great characters and a very fun story. I actually prefer the English dub version because the humor hits much harder in my opinion. I guarantee y’all will have a blast!

In-Universe: The Lore of WuxiaQinggong (Lightness Skill): Inside the world of the movie—a Chinese fantasy/historical genre known as Wuxia—the characters are not actually flying; they are practicing qinggong. This is a legendary martial arts discipline where masters harness their inner energy (qi) to make their bodies incredibly light. Defying Gravity via Footholds: Rather than soaring like superheroes, they must lightly tap off physical surfaces to propel themselves. They survive on the momentum of running up walls, stepping on drifting water, or gently balancing on the outermost tips of bamboo trees. Philosophical Enlightenment: In the narrative, this physical weightlessness represents spiritual and philosophical mastery. Only characters who have undergone rigorous spiritual and physical training, particularly those associated with the Wudang sect, can move through the world unburdened by gravity.

First watch. I heard this was very good. Excited to watch it

La Toya Sheri

Def is shanty from rush hour. She looks great for her age. This is an older movie came out before rush hour

Koko_Rootz

One hundred eyes- Marco Polo

Koko_Rootz

The flying and jumping references Wudan techniques that have been long lost and only known by a very few. Thatʻs why the guards couldnʻt follow them, only masters of wudan can perform those techniques.

2026-09-07 16:00 I believe that Police Story with Jackie Chan is one of her forst movies. She is one of the few female martial artists to do her own stunts. Yes, that is the young lady in Rush Hour

Omg I LOVE this movie soooo much! Can’t wait to watch your reaction.

Something that’s kind of fun/funny about this movie as a Chinese learner/speaker: all the actors have different accents. Some are Chinese, Taiwanese, Singaporean, etc. Imagine a Western where some of the characters sound American, some British, and some Australian. There’s no modern accent that captures exactly how people would’ve sounded in this time anyway, but it’s very noticeable to Mandarin speakers. Part of the charm.

Kareemah

It was always about that. Being young yourself may have hindered your comprehension of those facts. It's still an amazing movie. Michelle should have won the Oscar for her fight scene in this movie.

Kareemah

Because they haven't seen them before and they have been requested by Patreon and Discord members. If you aren't a member of the Discord family, you should ask for the link to be a member, it's free. Most of EDZN's content are first watch reactions. Right now they are int e Martial Arts genre, and I am here for it. Become a top tier Patreon member if you want them to get to your requests sooner, but some of us are enjoying the Martial Arts movies.

Kareemah

The three principal players did their own stunts and fighting.

jaynguin

that dojo fight was considered THE fight to beat for the longest time! Even to this day is considered among the very best swordfights in cinematic history.

Chloe

Yeah, Michelle is still one of my favorites. I think I remembered their friendship more from when I was young and not the betrayal.

Filà

Osafa lowkey freaked out LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO some of the sly comments he makes 😭🙃

One of my favorite movies. Jen was only 18 years old and forced to live a lie she didn’t want. Her self centeredness is expected given the circumstances. The other lesson is Li MuBai wasobsessed with revenge rather than appreciating the woman in front of him. They were great foils.

Kareemah

That is my ish, but I always hated the ending
