I don't know what's going on, but my new ally has failed to uphold her end of the bargain at the worst possible moment. What could have happened to her?!But I don't have the luxury of dwelling on such questions, as my opponent, the FelScar, seems determined not to take no for an answer... but to take me instead.I keep dodging him, hoping to stall long enough for Tizi to finally save the day. Alas, I have to face reality. I'm on my own.

Perhaps I should take him down. I've been trained for this. It might be noisy, but at least I should be able to-"Hey! What's all that noise in the store?!"A single moment of distraction is all it takes. The FelScar manages to grab me! Both his enormous hands clamp firmly around my torso. I can't move!I can see the glee in his eyes. He chuckles, lifting me into position as though preparing to...No! I won't allow it!Taking advantage of my elevated position, I throw all my weight forward and headbutt him squarely in the muzzle. The impact is violent enough to make him lose his grip on me, though not without tearing part of my suit in the process.He immediately starts hurling every insult imaginable at me. Well, that's the only damage he'll be doing! He thinks he can take me? I'm quite certain I can take him!

I steady myself, ready to strike. But it's already too late. Just as I'm about to launch myself at him and use my momentum to bring him down, a SharpClaw bursts into the store and spots us both.I can practically see the confusion in his eyes, but it doesn't take him long to react."BROTHERS! TO ME! INTRUDERS!"I gasp and immediately try to escape through the window I entered, only to spot more SharpClaw outside, already moving to block my path.With no clear way out, perhaps I could bluff my way through?"I-I was trying to stop that FelScar from touching your berries!... B-but I was too late!""Our berries?! What?!"He glances at the FelScar, who still seems uncertain what to do, growling like a feral beast. Then the SharpClaw looks me up and down as though I were a piece of meat."Don't buy it. No way some tiny thing like you could stop one of us, fox. Nah, bet that bastard was gonna feed you our berries so he could use you however he damn well pleased, and have you begging for more!"He spits."His mind's so broken he'd try to breed with anything. Disgusting."I'm at a loss for what to do. The FelScar seems equally uncertain. The SharpClaw is blocking our escape, and more silhouettes are rushing towards us.The FelScar notices them and tries to flee, but the other SharpClaw intercepts him. They immediately begin fighting.This is my only chance!I make a break for it, running as fast as my legs will carry me."Hey! Get back here!"The SharpClaw tries to seize me, but my reflexes save me once again. More arms reach out to grab me, though thankfully, most of them seem far too dazed by their... festivities to react with any precision.And now here I am, running through the middle of the village, desperately weaving between the SharpClaw trying to catch me.Glancing back, I see that the FelScar has been subdued and is already receiving a beating for his supposed misconduct. Technically, he hasn't done what they're accusing him of, and I can't help feeling responsible for his predicament. Yet remembering what he intended to do to me makes sympathy rather difficult.The one fortunate development is that other FelScars are rushing to defend their fellow sufferer, creating precisely the chaos I'd hoped for.

My staff…

The opportunity I've worked so desperately to create has been compromised. There's chaos, certainly, but not nearly enough for me to slip into the armoury unnoticed. I'd have to fight my way through.And yet... this may be my only chance to recover it. The SharpClaw are distracted, their attention divided. I doubt I'll get another opportunity like this.

But what about Tizi?

I promised to help her escape this place. She was supposed to be waiting for me in the berry store, yet she never answered my calls. Something must have happened to her.What if she's in danger? What if she's waiting for me to come to her rescue?Perhaps I should forget about my staff for now and find her. We could escape into the forest together and find somewhere safe to hide.But then what?Without my staff, I'd be just as defenceless as I am now. Even if I manage to find her, how could I possibly protect us both?On the other hand, if I go after my staff first... what might happen to her while I'm gone?I can't afford to waste any more time. Whatever I decide, I have to act now.
