I don't think Baekhyun f***ed up because sending her message when he is not interested will be giving her false hope and will waster her time in future. They were together for 7-9 yrs from teenage years to young adulthood. I am not surprised they broke up. The fact that they encountered this issue that led to a break up was bound to happen. Looking back when I was 16-18 yrs old basically still a kid, love of course is easy bc there isn’t much else to worry about. 19-21 yr old me had a different mindset. 22-24 yr old me had another phase of growth. I’m not 30 yet but 25+ yr old me has a much more mature outlook on things. Each age range of my 20's has had a switch in how I envisioned my future ,, what I expect and tolerate from a dating partner, goals changed, what I valued in a relationship changed, way of living switched up a lot. Love in a relationship can only do so much. As you get older staying together with someone involves a lot of compromise , sacrifice , understanding , patience since freedom becomes limited as you go into the real world. If MIN-KYUNG and YOO-SIK want to get back together they have to communicate their needs for where they are NOW in their lives vs. their past selves.

100% agree with not sending a message out of courtesy or just bc they went on a date. The texts are supposed to be for romantic interests/signaling. Many times people got the wrong idea when someone sent them a text just to be nice.
