Thank you for reacting to NCT 🥰 I’m soo sad that Mark left the Group. NCT Dream and NCT 127 are going to continue without Mark. NCT Dream used to have a graduation system. Anyone who became an adult had to leave the Group. Mark left 2018 but when they ended that system, Mark came back.

So, NCT Dream debuted in 2016 as a teen-aged unit with a rotational system where members would "graduate" (leave) the group upon reaching adulthood (20 in Korean age). In 2018, the leader, Mark, graduated from the group. This caused intense sadness and anxiety among members and NCTzens, who feared the group would eventually be dismantled. Following intense fan demand and the impending graduation of several other members, SM Entertainment announced in April 2020 that the graduation system was abolished. Mark returned, and the group became a fixed, seven-member unit. "Graduation" is about moving on from the idea of leaving, rather than leaving themselves. The lyrics reflect on the anxiety of those early years and celebrate the decision to stay together. The song reflects on the warmth of their time together, while looking forward to their future with a sense of relief and hope, officially "graduating from the graduation" system. Writing this amidst the current events is breaking my heart. However, our boy Mark is in the republic studios in the US working on his music. Ten left SM too.. many members have contract renewal in a few months no one knows what’s going to happen.

So believe it or not Mark left nct dream 2 times now😅 Graduation is a song meant to signify Mark's return to the group and them graduating from the graduation system concept that they had. Timeline: The graduation system was done in 2016 upon NCT Dream's debut where when a member turns 20, they leave the group and join another unit or another group. In other words, they weren't a fixed unit like how NCT 127 and WayV were. In 2018, upon Mark's coming of age 20 (Korean age at the time), he left the group, which created thia trauma on both the fandom and the nct dream members. 2020, due to fans persistence and protest for like over a year to cancel the whole graduation system and to make nct dream a fixed unit, SM gave in and made it so. Naturally with nct dream being a fixed unit, Mark decided to return. 2026, Mark has officially left both the nct brand and SM Entertainment. He did so to further pursue his solo career outside of being a kpop idol. The members were all very sad about it and were bawling their eyes out at their last concert together with him. He left on good terms with all the members and the fandom. Granted people are angry and sad that he left. But no-one is against his decision because it was very understandable.

This was meant to be like a happy graduation haha but since what happened, it has now a different meaning . . . Which is like reaaally graduating 🥲 but we are all still here supporting both NCT Dream, and units and Mark😀
