james was born in hong kong but grew up in taiwan. his first language is chinese, and his mom is thai so he speaks thai too. he mentioned in a weverse interview that he's the 'only' one in his family who can speak all their languages 😭 thats why i'm guessing his mom doesn't speak chinese and his dad doesn't speak thai, so they probably used english at home. basically he grew up with 3 languages, learned korean as his 4th. and since Cortis promotes in japan, all the members are trying to learn and speak japanese too! so yeah, james can speak 5 languages to some extent 😭

martin was really young when he moved back to korea from canada, so he doesn't remember anything about canada and only went back after debut with Cortis for a concert. he grew up and went to school entirely in korea, and i think he mostly learned english from speaking with his dad. he often asks james for help when he gets stuck on something in english 😭

and at 16:30 the way seonghyeon tried to turn but only his head moved and the rest of his body didn't follow 😭😭 lmao 16:14 when james did it i was like "wait, that doesn't look too hard" but a few seconds later seonghyeon was literally me 😭🫣 james often goes to play ice hockey on his days off! looks like there are quite a few places to try ice hockey in korea too https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UX4yRhcYadU
