Raising money for Repower: How Kyiv Independent merch helps support front-line medics (Patreon)

Dear Kyiv Independent community members,

It’s already been almost two months since we launched the Kyiv Independent store, and the outpouring of support has been truly humbling. We’ve been so happy to see that our community is excited to represent the Kyiv Independent brand – we’d like to also give a special thank you to those who sent in photos wearing our merch. We really appreciate it. Pictured above are our members wearing items from the core collection.

Every purchase helps fund our reporting – as well as the front-line medics in Ukraine.

For the first three months, we’re donating the profits from our core collection to Repower, an organization dedicated to helping Ukrainian medics and volunteers recover, both psychologically and physically.

So far, thanks to supporters like you, we’ve already raised $6,600 for Repower.

There’s still a month left to shop our collection featuring the classic Kyiv Independent logo and help raise money for Repower. As our member, you’re also eligible for a 15% discount with the code WELOVEOURMEMBERS (because we love you).

“We are deeply grateful to the Kyiv Independent for their unwavering commitment to support our mission,” Maryna Sadykova, head of the Repower Charitable Foundation, said.

“Our collaboration directly contributes to the well-being of those who protect our nation and is a lifeline for the brave medics on the front lines. The funds raised will directly impact our efforts to provide vital psychological support and recovery for those who risk everything for Ukraine’s freedom. Together, we are empowering the defenders of our future.”

To this date, Repower has helped more than 600 Ukrainian medics through their programs. By helping front-line medics prevent and cope with the psychological impact of their service, we're ensuring they can continue their life-saving work.

The pressure of front-line medical work can lead to emotional exhaustion, depression, and burnout, causing many dedicated healthcare professionals to leave the field they love.

Repower helps medics and volunteers recover from their service, and the Kyiv Independent is proud to stand beside them in their mission.

We’d also like to thank you for standing with us.
