Dear Kyiv Independent community members,

Thank you to those who attended our Q&A with deputy chief editor Oleksiy Sorokin and reporter Francis Farrell about what’s next for Ukraine after the U.S. presidential elections.

Last week, Oleksiy and Francis discussed what a second Trump White House would mean for Ukraine, both politically and on the battlefield. They answered your questions about how Ukraine’s strategy will change, if the country is prepared for the shift in U.S. foreign policy, and what hypothetical situations, like giving up territory to Russia in exchange for peace, would mean for Ukraine.

If you have any ideas for what topics you’d be interested in for future Q&As, please let us know by reaching out to us at community@kyivindependent.com.

What awaits Ukraine after the US elections? Q&A with Oleksiy Sorokin and Francis Farrell?

We're excited to invite you to our next community event: a Q&A about what awaits Ukraine after the 2024 U.S. elections, politically and on the battlefield. Deputy chief editor Oleksiy Sorokin and reporter Francis Farrell will answer your questions about the country's next steps. In October, Zelensky revealed the victory plan to parliament, claiming that if the plan is supported, the war could be ended no later than next year. The plan contains five points, the main one being Ukraine's NATO membership. The plan didn't seem to generate much support, meanwhile Russia continues to advance in the east. It also had deployed North Korean troops to fight on its side in Kursk Oblast.
