In case you missed it: Add a pin to our community map and show your support wherever you’re located (Patreon)

Dear Kyiv Independent community members,
In case you missed it, we want to highlight a new feature — exclusive to our paying members — we added to our website just a few months ago.
We've frequently heard from our members that there’s interest in additional ways to show support for the Kyiv Independent and Ukraine. In late 2024, after 11 months of development and a lot of hard work by our product manager Masha Kot, we launched the community map on our website.
Pictured above is Masha and the map.
As our member, you can now add a pin to the map, either with your first name or anonymously, to show where you’re supporting the Kyiv Independent from. (If you’re a member via Patreon, there is a form you can fill out, and we will manually add your pin.)
As of now, we have 2,615 pins on the map — and it makes a real difference for us to see how many people, from all around the world, are standing with us. Thank you for your support!
We also have an ongoing bet in the office, which you may be aware of already if you read our weekly community letter. Masha bet our COO Zakhar that we would have 3,000 members on the map by the end of February. The loser has to wear this shirt from our online store for an entire week straight. We have just one day left to prove Zakhar wrong, and less than 400 members to go.
Show your appreciation for Masha’s community map project — and your support for the Kyiv Independent — by adding your pin to the map here.
If you have any questions, encounter any difficulties, or have any feedback for us regarding the map, please reach out to us at community@kyivindependent.com. We hope you like this behind-the-scenes update about our website and a closer look at one of the projects we’ve been working on.
