Recording: Exclusive screening of our new documentary ‘Torture Culture’ — followed by a Q&A with Danylo Mokryk (Patreon)

Dear Kyiv Independent community members,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the exclusive screening of our documentary “Torture Culture” and the live Q&A with its author, Danylo Mokryk of the War Crimes Investigations Unit.

We’re now sharing the recording with you, so you can watch the discussion at your convenience.

“Torture Culture” investigates the systematic torture of Ukrainian civilians in Russian captivity. Through detailed testimonies, survivors recount the beatings, electrocution, sexual violence, and psychological pressure they endured while detained in different locations across Ukraine and Russia.

Following the screening, Danylo Mokryk answered questions about documenting torture, working with survivors, verifying evidence, and the role of investigative journalism in future efforts for accountability and justice.
