Dear Kyiv Independent community members,

One year on from the shocking scenes between U.S. President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, Washington's approach to Kyiv — and to Moscow — continues to surprise and unsettle. But like it or not, the U.S. will continue to shape the course of Russia's war against Ukraine.

On Thursday, March 19, Deputy Chief Editor Oleksiy Sorokin and Foreign Policy Reporter Tim Zadorozhnyy, who cover the shifting U.S. position on Russia's war in Ukraine here at the Kyiv Independent, will discuss how U.S.–Ukraine relations have evolved since the February 28 meeting and where they are heading in 2026.

Join the event by registering through the form below. You can also submit your questions in advance through the same form. During the event, we will address a selection of these questions, as well as those asked during the live session.

If you would like to explore the topic ahead of the discussion, we recommend revisiting Tim's reporting, including the Kyiv Independent's editorial following the Oval Office meeting.
