Hello to the Kyiv Independent Community!

Thank you for your continued support. We'd like to give a warm welcome to our 189 new patrons that joined this week and a big thank you to everyone who has stayed with us.

In the last week, here are some highlights from what we did at the Kyiv Independent:

We have added coverage. We're happy to announce that the Kyiv Independent and contributing reporter Daryna Antoniuk are going to be consistently covering tech. If you have any ideas of what you'd like to see in the tech section, we'd love to hear from you.

An important story from this week was Igor Kossov's "A Game of Drones: Ukraine builds up UAV fleet," which takes a look at the importance of the unmanned aerial vehicles in the war.

We also covered changes in the government with Oleg Sukhov's articles about new prosecutor general Andriy Kostin and about the new top anti-corruption prosecutor Oleksandr Klymenko.

As attention shifts to the south of Ukraine and the Ukrainian offensive to liberate Kherson, we looked at key developments in the region. Two important stories this week were Anna Myroniuk's "Kryvyi Rih industries strive for survival amid war" and Thaisa Semenova's "Amid brutal Russian occupation, Kherson’s resistance continues through boycott, guerilla operations."

Another story that got the attention of readers was Daria Shulzhenko's "Little heroes: Children raise money to support Ukraine’s fight."

We're looking to hire a Social Media Manager. We recently have opened a vacancy for Social Media Manager – if you know of anyone who would fit the position, please pass along this opportunity. The job listing is here.

In case you missed it, the Belarus Weekly newsletter was published today. Belarus continues to be an important topic, but it is often overlooked in Western media. You can get Belarus Weekly delivered straight to your inbox, or you can read this week's newsletter here.

This week our podcast "Did the War End?" takes a look at what it would take to de-mine Ukraine in the ninth episode of the series.

We want to hear from you. We just launched our first Community Survey. We want to better understand the members of the KI community so we can improve the experience for you. It shouldn't take more than five minutes, and it's a huge help to us!

Thank you for standing by our side as we are bringing independent, locally-sourced news about Ukraine to the world.

fyi I just called the United States office for Amnesty. It is in New York City. They actually answer the phone! I was able to share my horror at their report. The person on the phone apparently was clueless and needed me to tell him more. And I did. Slava Ukraïni. NY office is 212-807-8400. American? Call them and ...share. 🙏🏽
