A few months ago, we launched our most recent podcast Power Lines: From Ukraine to the World. The podcast looks at why Ukraine is geopolitically significant and the effects of Russia’s invasion, from food security and energy to Ukrainian identity.

Our next community event will be a Q&A with one of the co-hosts of Power Lines – and Kyiv Independent reporter – Anastasiia Lapatina. Anastasiia will answer your questions about the podcast, its origins, how they come up with topics, and how each episode is made.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. Kyiv time (1 p.m. EST).

This event is exclusive to our Patreon community members.

You can register and submit your questions for Anastasiia here: https://forms.gle/gEeVZxJXUiuaU3z97

Is there a way for an individual to come to Ukraine and help the people, even if they do not speak fluent Ukrainian or russian? I've contacted several agencies to no avail. I've been advised to learn russian first and then Ukrainian. Is this necessarily true. I know people mostly are fluent in both languages, but is speaking russian seen as less than fully acceptable these days?
