On Thursday, we spoke with reporters Anna Myroniuk and Alexander Khrebet about the second part of their investigation into alleged misconduct in Ukraine’s International Legion. Thank you to everyone who was able to join our event and to those who sent in questions!

Anna and Alexander spoke about how they conducted the investigation, gained the trust of their sources, different challenges they faced when reporting, and what the response has been to their investigations so far.

Following requests, we enabled the chat function and it seems like this made it easier for our audience to ask questions. Thank you to all who made the suggestion! We’re always open to ideas, and we really value hearing from our members.

Here is the recording for those not able to attend or who want to listen to the conversation again.

Great session. I hope our chatting was not a distraction! It was fun to see where people were from! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

This is what I’m supporting with Patreon? let me tell you, soldiers aren’t always going to be happy. You should be investigating the people killing you, not this! I will pull my support, it’s not much but it’s the best I can do. You want to crucify a man that came to help, was one of the first to be there and led from the front. First out last in!

Well Jim, I disagree with you. KI seem to be applying high journalistic standards and I personally found their report informative and inspiring. Congratulations to the team. There is no doubt this is a difficult subject and KI did not run away from it. It seems quite possible that there is at least one criminal officer in the Ukraine International Legion who is more interested in stealing than fighting. He is a wanted man in Poland for similar or worse. We know Putin is happy to use such people but Ukraine and Britain expect better. The Ukraine Government are probably very reluctant to admit to such things for obvious reasons. KI is nudging them to be brave. Tom

If you let corruption set root, pretty soon you'll end up as bad as Russia.
