War update with defense reporter Illia Ponomarenko (Patreon)

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began nearly 10 months ago. Then, many believed that Kyiv would fall in three days. Just last month, Ukraine liberated Kherson, the only regional capital that Russia managed to capture during its full-scale invasion.

On Thursday, Dec. 22, we invite you to join us for a Q&A with our defense reporter Illia Ponomarenko. He will answer your questions and talk about the current state of Europe’s deadliest war since World War II happening in his own country.

Read some of Illia’s recent articles: “How Russia’s humiliating defeat in Kherson came to be” and his op-ed “Ukraine has proved that hard choices pay off.”

Illia has been reporting on Russia’s war against Ukraine since 2014. He has also worked on deployments to Palestine and the DR Congo as an embedded reporter with UN peacekeeping forces.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. Kyiv time (1 p.m. EST).
