Dear Kyiv Independent community members, Thank you for your responses to our first PDF version of our articles – we’re happy to hear that many of you found this convenient for sharing with your friends and family. One of our members, Malcolm, even shared how he was able to turn the PDF into booklets, which are pictured above. We included his instructions for printing below, just in case anyone would find it helpful!

If you printed out the PDF and shared it, we’d love to know what you thought: Is there anything you’d like to see improved or added? Please also feel free to share your photos! We’re looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

Here are the instructions for printing a booklet:

Print settings in Adobe Acrobat Reader in A5 format on A4 paper

Pages to print: All

Page Sizing & Handling: Booklet

Booklet subset: Both sides

Sheets from: 1 to 8

Binding: Left

Orientation: Portrait

Assembling a booklet:

Put the first page (cover) face down

Looking at the page numbers on the left side (bottom center), facing up it should be page 2, followed by pages 4, 6, 8, up until the last page, page 16

Fold down the center to form the size A5 booklet

Optional: Staple in the center. If your stapler doesn’t reach, another member suggested that opening the stapler and stapling against a hard surface will also work.

Thank you for your support! We’re excited to test new ways to share our journalism.

If you did some articles on Ukrainian art and culture, with photos, the pdf would look really good, especially printed out in booklet form.
