Our next community event will be a Q&A with Kyiv Independent contributor Maria Yeryoma and senior editor Oleksiy Sorokin about the current situation in Belarus, including the rumors surrounding the arrival of Wagner mercenaries and the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons to the country.

Maria Yeryoma is a Belarusian media manager. She is a contributing author at the Kyiv Independent where she writes the Belarus Weekly newsletter.

She led commercial projects at TUT.BY — the biggest independent online media in Belarus.

In May 2021, TUT.BY was raided by Belarusian authorities leaving 15 employees in prison and forcing the rest of the team to leave the country to continue their work.
