Why do I see so many young conscription-age men not in uniform in video scenes of Ukrainian cities? In other existential wars, such as WW II, nearly all conscription-age men not working in vital defense industries were conscripted or volunteered. It's as if part of Ukrainian society is acting as if there's no war.

Please discuss the appointment of Rustem Umierov to the Defence Minister’s position and how it may affect Ukraine’s ability to take back occupied territories. Thank you.

Is time on Russia’s side or on Ukraine’s side? In other words, which side is at greater long-term risk of running out of time in terms of: (1) soldiers; (2) weapons; (3) ability to pay for the war; and/or (4) internal support or at least willingness to go along with the war? If there is s significant risk that time is not on Ukraine’s side, then is the Western approach of “support as long as it takes” enough - or is failing to support a quick and decisive Ukrainian victory a massive failure of leadership? (These questions are inspired by recent commentary by Malcontent News that Russia has more people to throw at the war, and zero concern for people’s lives, so “as long as it takes” works against Ukraine, and the West must support a quick and decisive Ukrainian victory.)
