Dear Kyiv Independent community members,

Our next community event will be a discussion about life in Kyiv during wartime with deputy chief editor Toma Istomina and chief operating officer Zakhar Protsiuk. They will discuss how Russia’s war has affected day-to-day life in Kyiv, including air alarms and martial law, and their experience keeping the Kyiv Independent office autonomous last winter during energy shortages.

If you have any questions about how the full-scale invasion has affected life in Kyiv, we’d love to hear them.

Register to the event and submit your questions here: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_hLy9SL0lRFaw17AnR6uHKA

After registering, you will immediately receive the meeting information and automatically be sent a one-hour reminder.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. Kyiv time (1 p.m. EDT).

Hope to see you there!

One question that keeps coming up here is: What do the ukrainians who are still in the country think about some of the people who have fled to the UK etc? I am sure they can understand the women and children etc but there are quite a few 20-year-olds here and they are worried about what will be said when they get back.
