The second I stepped into this room and saw the light hitting the floor… I didn’t think twice.

That soft light pouring in like it was waiting for me with the dust, debris, and broken textures everywhere I just couldn't resist! So I dropped my clothes, tucked my bag out of sight, and pulled out my camera.

There was no time to overthink it.... Before going in, I had been told I had about 30 minutes to explore the building.

Eight stories. (5 above and 3 underground) And only thirty minutes... basically meant… move fast or miss everything. So I followed the light and this is where it led me.

(The full set is below.)

Shooting in a place like this is never just about the photos. There’s always that awareness in the back of your mind of not getting caught, not pushing your luck too far, and being careful with every step you take.

With bare feet on a floor like that you don’t just move… you choose where you place yourself.

Some of my favorite moments from this set came from the simplest things.

Standing in the window with the light hitting just right and the reflections in the water on the floor… those ones surprised me the most!

They feel almost like you’re seeing two versions of the same moment.

Now I want to know...what kind of mood do these images give you? Let's chat about it below
