This is still one of the best episodes of the whole show. When we saw Mama Mary, Dean's face just hit me, because suddenly, he was 4 years old and seeing his mom again, and it always breaks me. We are seeing sides of Dean in this episode that we haven't seen before, and I love that, it gives great insight to who he really is. When Mama Mary turned towards Sam, she said 'I'm sorry'. Why do you think she said that? I remember it bugged me when I first watched that episode, like... What does she have to apologize for, it's not like she asked to be killed in his nursery. And yeah. Missouri is one of those characters that you instantly just like. I am really enjoying watching you guys react to this show.

LOVED this episode so much! It really showed us a different side of Dean....I also think Sam needs to be saved much more than Dean because 1. he seems to be a danger magnet....and 2. he is less experienced as a hunter than Dean is, he got out of the life when he went to college so he is a bit rusty, but I also think Dean is definitely the better fighter/brawler and it seems like Dean probably did more of the actual hunting when they were younger and Sam probably did a lot of the research or was left out as much as Dean and John could manage. From little things the boys say it seems like Sam was "trained" to be a hunter but didn't really have a lot of "on the job" experience, unlike Dean. It seems like Dean was John's right hand and his go-to person...just thinking back to how John left on his voicemail for people to call Dean, specifically if they needed help....no mention of Sam.

This is such a great ep! I love Missouri. Dean’s phone call to his dad is heartbreaking. It gets me every time. We’re starting to get some idea of what is going on with Sam. You can see how unsettled Dean is too.

The joy of 22 episode seasons, sometimes the lore drops take a bit. Not a complaint, I *miss* this kind of TV but it does sometimes feel like it takes too long between big important things

Home was a huge episode, it took the show to into another level. Did you pick up on Mary telling Sam she was sorry? We had to wait for so long to discover why she said that! Loretta Devine was brilliant I wish we had seen more of her character. Everyone falls in love with the Impala, baby actually became like a character in her own right but for the first few seasons that beautiful sound wasn't her, she was pretty broken down and they used the sound of a Mustang instead. Eventually Jensen persuaded the bosses to have her restored to her full glory, with a souped up engine. They had about 6 cars in various states but she is known as the hero car. Jensen had it written in his contract that when the show finished she went home with him.
