With the question of whether Hershel & the others new about Sophia being in the barn, the answer was in episode 7 when Rick is helping Hershel collect the walkers from the swamp Hershel says that it was Otis who did that job but now they would have to do it. I know people won’t like this but, with regards to Shane, no one is forcing him to stay on the farm. If he doesn’t like the choices Rick is making or how Hershel is with the walkers then LEAVE!!!! No one is stopping Shane from going & that goes for the rest of the group too. If any of them have a problem with Rick’s leadership then you don’t have to stay. They all keep looking to Rick to lead but then have some issue with him when he does so stop following him, go on your own & make decisions for yourself. Good Luck!! PS - is there any possibility you could react to the movie Aliens? Please, please, pretty please. You reacted to the first Alien movie, which was great, & I’d really like to see your reaction to the second movie. I actually liked the second one more (which I know will upset some people). Thank you for your time.

The difference is Rick would put his life on the line to save anyone in the group, Shane would sacrifice anyone in the group except the woman he's obsessed with.

Yay one of my favorite episodes in the whole series. We saw when Rick had to shoot Sophia how much it hurt him, it no doubt changed him. But this episode begins the real change from Officer Friendly of 'before the apocalypse' to Rick Grimes, 'new world leader'

im not religious but people wonder why Hershel dose not want them to be with them on the farm 1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good character.'" Shane is definitely right about some things, but he doesn't have to be a total dick about it. There's absolutely no reason at all for him to rub it all in Rick's face like that, either.
