I’m glad you guys liked this episode. I love it so much. These guys are so good at non-verbals and they feel so real as brothers. I think it’s fitting that it was just Sam and Dean this time because they care about Bobby, but the brothers are each other’s true/core family, and I think the poignancy of Dean’s last Christmas and Sam being alone soon would not have been the same with Bobby there, too. Also, Jared spiked Jensen’s eggnog, so Dean’s surprised reaction when he takes a sip was legit.

Fun fact, Jared spiked the eggnog, so Jensen's reaction at the end is genuine, he had no idea.

... ''Alrighty Roo'' has lived rent free in my head since I saw this first..... and pops out of me every now and then...

In many ways I think this is the most complete episode as it's got everything the makes the show so special. Its got the black humour, the horror, you'll never forget the fingernail, heartwarming brother moments and the heartbreaking flashbacks. I remember the 1st time seeing it when we discovered Dean was the one who told Sam there's no Santa and you think, typical, but then we find out why and it is heartbreaking, the origin of the amulet is also explained. The interview with Kripke about it is fascinating he was determined that they had to have the monster kill the dad in front of the kid and taken up the chimney, and the boys had to kill the monster with a Christmas tree. A definite Christmas classic. Silent night will never be the same.

I rewatch Christmas special every year. It's graphic but touches on the boy's emotions superbly. Sam & Dean, brothers until the end. Also makes me want to enjoy eggnog but I never do lol.

I'm sure you've already been told, but Jensen can sing VERY VERY well. He has a band with a close friend named Steve Carlson and they're called Radio Company. Jensen has stated that he specifically made Dean a bad singer, because he didn't people to know he could sing, as he was very shy. Now he struts the stage like a rock star.
