Apologies if you have already been told... but yes, Tom Ellis can sing but at this stage of the show he faked playing piano. He can play a bit but not at the level required for the Show. He did work on that to improve and I believe by season 5 he was allowed to tinker on the piano just a little as has been explained in many interviews and ComicCon Q & As. The Devil was not planned to be a singer but after the Pilot episode the cast and crew went out for the evening in Vancouver where it was filmed, for a karaoke evening and the Showrunners were amazed when Tom got up and belted out 'Mustang Sally' and they then by this episode they wrote a Devil who can sing into the character. Lucifer sings now and then throughout all six seasons but they don't over do it. It is only when the song or mood fits the storyline. Also a bit of fun trivia, the Show was filmed close to where Supernatural was also filmed and the cast of Lucifer and the cast of Supernatural sometimes hung out together and are still friends.

One of the things I found so interesting when I first watched this episode is that Lucifer's wings are white. Amenadiel's are black. Based on skin color or is the show saying something about Lucifer's character? At least, that's what I asked myself at this point in the show.
