You ain't seen nothing yet, this season will blow your mind. This season and season 5 are the best!

Michael Instone

Jensen again, this show should have won loads of Emmy 's. For some reason they don't like horrors. Eric Kripke himself said of Jensen he would have swept the board.

Georgie Mizell

Jensen’s acting at the end while talking about hell is incredible. This whole season is just so good, it really should have won awards

JEEEEZE!! Learning what Dean went through, my already broken heart shatters for him!!! And Sam … What did Ruby mean with her, “your skills are getting flabby. You know what you’ve got to do”???? That doesn’t sound very good either, especially when Sam shot her down quickly and sternly … These brothers </3

Michele

This is an amazing episode. It also broke my heart. Again. Jensen has said that the scene at the end was really hard. He said that he told the director that he couldn't do many shots of it. Even so, he had to go off for a bit to get over it. Those tears were not planned. They just came. As usual. I believe that Jensen is so naturally empathetic that it's easy for him to fully get into the feelings of the character. I liked Anna a lot already. I hoped we'd get more of her. Kripke took full advantage of the black and white aspect of this story. Sam with a demon and Dean with an angel.

sad fact, those were real tears from Jensen (dean) , he was not acting.... he had to walk off set and calm down for like 2 hours

I never thought that Dean was against Sam using his powers because of what he'd done in hell. Dean was always against Sam's powers, he even tried to deny them as far back as season one. I liked this episode and the last episode, because we did receive a lot of information. I am not a fan of the next several episodes, but I will be checking in on you guys nonetheless. As always, I enjoyed your reactions!

Susie

They weren't going to consider a CW show for the Emmy's. However, Jensen's acting, especially in these early seasons is fantastic. He is the only actor to have made me cry to this day, and he did so starting in season two. He was unbelievable in 2x20 What Is And What Should Never Be. When Mary opened the door, Jensen's facial expressions told us everything he was feeling at that moment. It was breathtaking. He's a fantastic actor for sure.

Hearing Dean talk about hell is definitely one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Supernatural. I remember watching this one for the first time this is such a huge episode definitely a lot to think about.

That ending scene makes me cry every. single. time. There’s so much packed into this episode. It seemed like the previous one gave us so much, but this one?!?! The one thing that still sticks with me is that all the crap that went down, not just Dean telling the angels where they were, but Ruby being TORTURED by one of the most powerful demons we’ve met besides Lilith (he’s the only one besides her that we’ve seen with white eyes and Castiel couldn’t kill him with his powers)- was all according to Sam’s plan. Ruby knows how twisted Alastair is, but willingly put herself in that situation for the plan to work. That part still blows my mind. The whole episode could have ended with them surviving the day. It was a great show packed with so much lore and main plot already. They could have had Dean’s reveal happen later, but no. Not only was his story heartbreaking, but holy crap that performance. There’s a reason it still makes me cry. There’s still more crazy episodes to come and I love I get to relive seeing it for the first time through your guys reactions 😊 (Reminder S4E18 has no intro at all, not even “Then & Now”. Do NOT skip ahead!)

You can click on "Collections", find the full Supernatural link and see if you did. I missed one once, had to go back and find it a few days later...

This episode is so full that there is nothing I can add that wouldn't be redundant or a spoiler. So I'm just gonna say that there was one thing one of you said that put a big smile on my face. :)

Michele

Something I forgot to mention. There's a call back to something Ruby said to Dean in season 3. About what Hell does to someone. How they eventually lose their humanity and become a demon. I think that transformation had started for Dean when he started torturing in Hell. He had made that first step towards losing his humanity and becoming a demon. This was just my own perspective. I hadn't heard anyone else mention it.

Project Senpai

Honestly, there was so much to take in in this episode. It felt like a huge episode while watching it.

Project Senpai

Right!! Absolutely heartbreaking. It was a tough scene to watch for him.

Project Senpai

Two very strong and intriguing storylines running side by side here. We want more!! XD

Project Senpai

That's true! I was thinking there may be more to it than just that but we'll see.

Project Senpai

Damn, can't blame him. I bet that was such a tough scene to deliver.

Project Senpai

Yeah, this episode was really so good! All the information we got was a real turning point, and the performances were out of this world.

Lynne Whitney

For some reason episode 10 was available for the VIP viewers before 8 and 9 were.

Linda Thackeray

Oh in case you missed it. The episode where Dean gets cursed with fear is related to this. The curse targetted people who were bullies or in Dean's words 'dicks'. His torture of souls is why he was infected and not Sam.

John Bolze

Dude Reality Porn. You call this reality lmao. Oh, and Bobby on some beach in a banana hammock and a trucker cap omg! A slice of Angel food cake. Man, this one has so many funny lines its verry needed with how deep this episode is.

John Bolze

The Blind Faith of the Angels is extremely interesting; they have to take 4 Angels words that he does exist. It's Also like us we've never seen God and some don't believe. But Angels are not allowed to question. It's like the Inquisition.

Yma

Oh wow- I never realized that. I don’t know how I missed that, but it makes more sense now. Thanks for the insight!

Paul

What a cataclysmic episode. Especially for the end-scene. And you know what Dean? You held out against torture that would make the CIA blush, for 30 years! Like Sammy said, that's longer than anyone would have. And he means it. Longer than any other human alive. The stuff of legend. I wouldn't have lasted 3 hours before I started slicing and carving. Phenomenal delivery by Jensen Ackles. I believe in behind-the-scenes facts, couldn't stop tearing up after filming it. He really placed himself into Dean's shoes.
