I love this episode so much! The casting of Colin Ford as young Sam was so spot on. Jared actually had him on as younger version of his character in Walker, the series he did right after Supernatural. I also love how they realistically showed the difference in 14 year old Sam who hadn’t hit is growth spurt yet and 18 year old Dean. Sam’s storyline in this episode gives so much insight. The relationship with the teacher and Barry. I really don’t think Dean ever had anybody take an interest in what he wanted to do or what he saw for himself the way that teacher took an interest in Sam in that brief time. It was cool seeing Sam being able to thank that teacher after all those years even if things didn’t really turn out how he wanted. Jensen was all in on the gym teacher role. He has talked at cons about how when he found out about this storyline that he actually went to the costume department and told them exactly the outfit he needed Dean to have. And I kid you not, every Phys Ed teacher in the US must shop from the same catalog. My gym teacher had basically the same outfit.
